    The good thingsI worked with SM dept store as dept manager for 4 years and was given opportunity to be part of 3 branches in those years.sM has taught me the importance of being flexible and creative. sM listens to their people when it comes to suggestions that make work flow easier and employees happy. they have different programs and benefits for the employees to support them till retirement.
    The challenges6 days work week takes toll to ones social life. Culture setting differs in every branch. Merit increase can be raised higher. Work sched is based on operations time, therefore there is work on holidays and filing leave is seldom allowed.

    The challengesOne of the challenges would be work schedule which is Monday-Friday; 9:00am-7:30pm or compressed work week. If you're okay with that, you'll be fine here.

    The good thingsI learned a lot of things in terms of retail operations, inventory, sales and even marketing. They provided trainings and seminars that helped me excel in my job. Customer Service is the most important part of the job and the company taught us how to converse well with customers and to ultimately build strong customer relations and loyalty.
    The challengesSince there are so many employees it is sometimes hard to deal with everyone. Some have been there for more than 10 years and they feel that although we are on the same level of position, their tenure entitles them to more benefits or privileges. Promotion is still relatively based on number of years instead of skill or talent. Some have to wait at least 5 years to even have a chance at promotion
