    Structure changes all the time
The good thingsYou can go up the rank very quickly if you know how to talk and promote yourself and passing team's work as your own. As long as you are good at networking with management, there are lots of opportunities to grow. Great retirement environment if you just want a regular pay and doesn't need to grow.
The challengesYou need to be young and very proactive as development opportunities are available for these young people. At the same time, there are lots of staff who have worked with the company for decades so its not easy to change the way they work.

    First job at Symrise
The good thingsThere were good staff benefits, such as company transport and lunch being provided, and the working environment was dynamic. It was my first job, and I find that Symrise was a good environment for learning and growing in the area you're working for.
The challengesMinor stuff such as communications between the different departments could have been better, and if there were more easily understandable documents available on the updates of the company's progress in the market it would have been better.

    Development Technologist (Delivery Systems)
    Jun 2015
Singapore1 to 2 years in the role, current employee
Working for Symrise Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
The good thingsThe company is aggressive in its global and regional strategy and is often quick on its toes to either create new business opportunity, maintain existing business, or grabbing rival's businesses. The company has just acquired another big company in its quest to become the number flavour house in the world and is constantly changing its portfolio to improve its market share globally.
The challengesDue to its aggressiveness, it has often tried to \"last minute\" develop products which can sometimes be inferior in quality than expected and places unimaginable stresses on its technical employees to rectify the issue \"behind the scenes\". This is then combined with the lack of recognition for those who worked hard for it. They also tend to hire foreign talent instead of promoting its own people.
