    Balance
The good thingsNice colleagues, very friendly and helpful. Good environment, have some nice children, students. Also able to know what enrichment centers teach these days. TLL courses are very in-depth.
The challengesLocation and working hours. Not typical office/ opening hours, start late end late. Compulsory to work both weekends, work schedule dependant on the class schedule. Might need to work independently on certain days. Might have to face unreasonable parents. Have fixed 'no leave' period which wasn't mentioned during contract signing. Have to help collage

    Fantastic learning opportunities and flexibility
The good thingsCulture amongst teachers is good, upper management is understanding.
The challengesWorking on weekends like all enrichment centres because I have a son now and my life stage has changed. I wont be able to work every weekend anymore.

Good if you just want to teach
The good thingsNice people. High pay. A lot of autonomy and freedom with working hours.
The challengesDouble weekends. Poor upper management that does not understand employees at grassroots level. Poor operational team which is still high acclaimed by upper management. Unable to advance in career.

    A pleasant working environment
The good things1. Friendly colleagues. 2. Able to acquire useful tech skills that are related to ERP & Microsoft Dyanmic software. 3. The working environment is less regimental than some other companies.
The challenges1. Must be able to take ownership & do your tackle problems. Not easy but will help one become independent & sharpen problems diving skill. 2. Your interpersonal & communication skills will improve because one need to adjust your communication style so that you are able to interact with different type of household.

The good thingsThe pay, your same rank colleagues & the staff from the other departments are your saving grace (& key to sanity). Though there are some really nice parents who make your day a little more bearable.
The challengesIt takes someone with a strong mental, emotional & physical capacity to work there. It's definitely not a job for the faint-hearted. The management tends to make drastic changes without any prior warning, yet expects total submission from everyone. Loyalty is underrated in this company, as everyone is dispensable to them.

    flexible hours but never fixed
The good thingsfair hr support, relatively few actual \"working\" hours. typical maximum is 24 hours a week teaching, the rest of the time is spent preparing for lessons and marking. workload is fair. as a teacher, definitely less than half that if an MOE teacher.
The challengesyou only know your schedule for the week, and it's not always fixed since teachers fall sick and you have to cover classes last minute. you can be posted anywhere, from tampines to bukit batok on the same day. leave must be taken two months in advance, and not more than two weeks consecutively. one weekend (or both) is burnt. no room for progression, no courses for self-development. high focus on maintaining good parent-teacher relationship.

I had taught at TLL for 3.5 years before leaving Singapore, I came back only 4months ago.
The good thingsThe students were highly motivated and the materials were of good quality. The teaching and non-teaching staff were very helpful too. The class size was small and location was ideal for me. I have to admit the teaching rate was very attractive, during that time it was one of the highest paying tuition centres around.
The challengesThere was a substantial amount of work to be completed by the students each week. The classroom was not big so there were times when students were put into a full class for make up lessons, the space would be a constraint.

Great environment but questionable leadership and management.
The good thingsThe pay is rather good, one of the best in the industry, n doubt about it. The students are always funny and great to be around with. The colleagues are people who can turn into some of your best friends for life! :) You also learn a lot in a short period of time which is important in terms of one's general development.
The challengesThe company has grown and expanded too quickly in the last 3-4 years without properly understanding the market. While this is indeed a business and profit is important, there seems to be too much focus on the money-making and not so much on the clients (students and parents) or the teachers' welfare or development.

    Working at the Learning Lab
The good thingsRelatively late starting work hours, and relatively short work hours as compared to other more conventional jobs. Working with children keeps things exciting and fun. High starting pay and good remuneration.
The challengesManagement doesn't often understand the challenges faced by on-the-ground employees. Unconventional work hours also means that you'd be working when family and friends are available to meet for leisure.

A place to stay on if one has little ambition to venture into other areas or profession
The good thingsColleagues, students and the ability to run the school like your own
The challengesLittle or no growth after. Stagnant and difficult to find a job that pays you as well should one decide to pursue a different profession.
