Fulfilling job with opportunities for personal growth
The good thingsAt The Little Skool-House International, I got the opportunity to be both a mentee and a buddy/mentor. When I first joined the early childhood field, I felt lost and did not really have a clear view about what to do. Thankfully, I had a mentor to guide and encourage me along the way, I knew I had someone to turn to when challenges arose. This really helped me to transit nicely from being a full time student to a confident full time early childhood educator. After 2 years in The Little Skool-House International, I had the opportunity to become a buddy/mentor myself. Like what my mentor did for me, I try my best to help new teachers and student teachers settle nicely into their role as an early childhood educator. Right now, as an early childhood educator in The Little Skool-House International, I not only receive joy from the children but I also get to experience the joy of seeing new teachers fall in love with their job as an early childhood educator.
The challengesOne challenge I face would be the inclusion of children with special needs in my classroom. As the children have different needs, time is needed to plan a variation of activities to cater to their different needs. However, I had the opportunity to attend trainings on inclusion and it has equipped me with some useful strategies on how I can manage these children in my classroom.

    Growth in LSH
The good things8 years ago, I have decided to join LSH after my graduation. I started off as a teacher and was promoted to a Senior Teacher shortly. 4 years later, I held the role of a Vice-Principal, and was promoted to a Principal after a year. Throughout my 8 years in LSH, many opportunities such as attending relevant trainings as well as engaging in reflective discussions with my RO were provided for me to grow and develop as a leader. Every year, my RO would review my Individualized Development Plan (IDP) with me and identify the goals that are appropriate for me to achieve. She checks in with me regularly and guides me so that I can meet the identified goals. The management team also meet up with me on a regular basis to find out how I am coping and how they can further support me to grow professionally. As a leader now, I am grateful with what LSH has provided me to grow professionally in the early childhood field.
The challengesIn this new era where everyone taps on the advanced technology to increase the efficiency at work, our company does the same too. With this, we need to constantly learn new knowledge and upgrade ourselves.

    Make a Difference with Mentoring
The good thingsBeing the head of mentoring at LSH has presented me with many opportunities to learn and meet new people. Being able to help new teachers and those who need support is an interesting aspect of my role and I look forward to it. It is a privilege to share my personal experiences and remind ourselves that we are in this journey together. The willingness to learn and engaging new creative ideas energise me! Struggles are real but having a mentor who guides and supports will help us ride the adversities and make us stronger and wiser. I have benefited on my receiving end and I wish to pay it forward. Looking forward to inspiring more fellow early childhood professionals!
The challengesWith the advancement in technology, several systems have been introduced to support our work and to streamline workflow. As such, one needs to be open-minded to learning new skills to enhance work processes to achieve greater excellence.

    A Close-knit Work Family
The good thingsI am thrilled to be part of The Little Skool-House due to its supportive community and friends I’ve made at work. Work never feels alone when I know that my colleagues have my back. They are my confidantes and provided me with listening ear and words of encouragement in times of need. I treasure the time spent with them during trainings and special days where we have team bonding sessions together. My fondest memory with my colleagues was working on a fund-raising project and everyone pitched in to help to make sure that it was a success! I am glad to be part of this close-knitted family.

A great culture to work in
The good thingsI joined Little Skool-House six years ago as my friend has referred me. I was a fresh grad and did not have much working experiences, hence, being in a working environment with a close friend made me feel safe. My peers were very welcoming, inclusive and caring. I soon made friends of my own-friends whom I can share my life, dreams and troubles with. We have become each other’s pillar of support and we inspire, encourage and sharpen each other. My friend is now a centre leader in another Little Skool-House, and another close friend transferred to another outlet. I thought I would have felt lost, but I realized that I have found a home in this family and now it is my turn to be the big sister and friend to the many new teachers coming in.

Fast Track Your Career Growth with LSH!
The good things"Making a decision for the right preschool sure took me some time as I was seeking for leadership opportunities. But up to date, I am certain and glad of the decision that I have made 16 months ago. LSH values their staff and looks into ways to groom them to be a better value asset to the company. Through close guidance and support from the LSH management, I was able to adapt well to work effectively with my team within a short period of time. If you are seeking to expand your knowledge and skill set or even take on leadership opportunities, LSH would be a place where you would want to be a part of."
The challenges“Time management is definitely a skill that you would need to acquire and demonstrate in LSH to overcome the challenges in this company. LSH really pushes you to be a better individual with the expectations and workloads that come with it. Thus, with good time management skills, one can easily and bravely overcome these challenges.”

    Opportunities for career progression
The good thingsAt the Little Skool-House, the management takes into consideration of the staff’s abilities and leadership potential, often providing various opportunities for teachers to lead and execute activities and events. I’ve been trusted with the planning of major events which partners parents and other community members which has in turn, developed my leadership capability and enhanced my communication skills with my fellow colleagues. I am glad to have grown under strong leaders and wonderful mentors who have guided me along this process.
The challengesAs there are many events that can take place, there might be times when it gets overwhelming.
