Thomson Reuters: Where work & leisure has no boundaries
The good thingsThomson Reuters is one of the few companIes that has perfected work-life balance. Not only does it give its employees work schedule that allows them to spend ample time with their families daily. It also has interest clubs to develop the other skills of the employees. It also provides its employees with soft skills training to develop them further in their roles in the company.
The challengesIf only the company can provide a flexible work schedule to keep up with the fast pace life of its employees then everything will be perfect.

The good thingsThey are people management and they compensate their employees very well, also the load of work is manageable and clients you are dealing with are all well mannered
The challengesAs a starter you struggle in learning but eventually you will adapt since people working in this company are very warm and welcoming.

    Work-life Balance Company
The good thingsWork-life balance is implemented and the workplace is conducive for learning.
The challengesI guess if Thomson Reuters would recognize and show more appreciation to its employees, attrition will be lessen. Also, i suggest that they offer more career opportunities for growth of the people.

The First Will Always Be Special
The good thingsJust a month and a half after my graduation, I joined Thomson Reuters - Manila. I Got excited about a lot of things since it was my first job. The good thing about our job was the exposure in handling client issues and concerns. Mostly, they are located overseas so the cultural exposure is quite good. And we get to be knowledgeable about various Thomson Reuters' products.
The challengesOur job was mainly repetitive. Everyday, we're doing the same and I think it didn't justify our college degrees. Though there are quite a few analysis needed, still, the job was so simple and repetitive. There's no room for new learning.

    My First Job
The good thingsI worked here as a Research Analyst, about two weeks after I graduated last on 2010. The recruitment process didn't took that long because I was advised on the result of my application the day i applied. The compensation offer. Though my job role i single-paced, I was able to build friendship through workshops and team-building.
The challengesThe career growth would take a long-time a long time since the size of the company manifest tight competition. Also, I was included in a team of seven analyst - some thing that our team manager would have find hard time for dealing with the individual concerns of each analyst with respect to the team goal.

    A Great Place To Work
The good thingsI love working for Thomson Reuters because of the following reasons: 1. The company invests heavily in its people. Trainings, Projects, and opportunities for skill transfer are abundant. 2. The environment is open to ideas and suggestions without the feat of failure or loss of job tenure. 3. Executive leadership is transparent with their goals and direction 4. Benefits are relatively enough
The challengesSince the Philippine branch has plateaued in terms of growth, managers like myself are finding it difficult to move up in rank or around in different business units.

    A good starting point
The good thingsThere are many benefits for employees like healthcare, allowance and insurance. No one is discriminated based on different social statuses like religion, race, gender, etc. The workplace is well maintained. There are live training sessions via web for individuals and groups and employees get to interact with their mentors or colleagues There are many organizations inside for recreation.
The challengesSome employees need proper training especially for workflows that are new. Time management in terms of learning new processes and tools should be improved. Some employees in the nightshift are at risk in terms of health. Most are also not able to join in company activities done at daytime. It is also difficult when you are assigned work requiring more time than usual.

    Great place to work
The good thingsThe benifits given to the employees. Multiple option for career opportunities. Work life balance and the opportunity to work in a company that helps people who are influencers in this world.
The challengesHaving an outsourced IT is a disadvantage. It delays alot of requests.

    The good thingsGreat company benefits; great salary package;
The challengesGiven that the company is quite big, career development is a challenge since most of the time, they prefer tenure versus experience. I even tried applying to other departments but my manager did not encourage me nor supported me on this and that is the main reason why I left the company.

3 of the best years of my life :)
The good things1. Employer actively engages the employees in socio cultural activities 2. Allows for a professional environment as it develops a culture of mature professionals/employees 3. Allows flexible working hours when applicable depending on job/team requirements 4. Working here brings prestige as it is a well known company 5. Good employee benefits 6. Good HR and admin
The challenges1. Since its been in the business for a while, there may be challenges regarding job growth and opportunities as there is only mostly horizontal movement 2. There is very little room for personal growth for most employees 3. In my experience, managers were chosen based on tenure not on performance and peer evaluation

A Review of a Fresh Grad Employee
The good thingsIt provided me a better training ground in understanding economics data and how these data are being extensively used by clients. Additionally, the company also promotes welfare of its employees through various training, events, among others.
The challengesPerhaps, making the compensation more competitive so as to encourage excellent employees to stay. At the same time, reviewing the monetary benefits will ensure that promising talents are recruited to work in the company.

    Join the best!
The good thingsThomson Reuters provides all the equipment needed for you to become a good employee: good pay, work-life balance, great co-workers and diverse culture. Thomson Reuters promotes diversity to all employees, regardless of sexual orientation, just like me. The company also helps you to become independent by letting you decide on specific tasks.
The challengesThe company has a flat environment. If you wish to be promoted in a year or two, that might not happen within your timeframe. Though the company provides excellent training to help you become a competitive employee, the company will not be able to provide your highly coveted promotion in a while. The opportunity might come though if you wish to be employed internationally.
