GROWTH IS ALWAYS A CHALLENGEThe good thingsAlthough a family business, the scale has rocketed and company has grown. It is a lot more professional now than 2-3 years back. There are properly and professionally structured departments, and HR has brought in roles and functions the company never used to have, implemented rules for compliance and discipline. New breed working to bring changes, identifying, troubleshooting, rectifying and improving processes.
The challengesIts a challenging environment. Being in domestic fresh food business, there is hardly any downtime. The facility operates all year round except during Chinese New Year. Unlike the past, headcount has increased exponentially from 50 to 200+. Maybe too fast. We cannot keep up with the pace, and the accountability that comes with expansion, but HR still keeps hounding for things, which is necessary BUT ANNOYING!!!
