    May 2021
3 to 4 years in the role, current employee
Good place to learn and grow due to much workload given
The good thingsA lot of things to learn and grow. For lab perspectives, as a Chemist, you will learn how to perform PM and troubleshoot equipment, perform validation projects, handle audits, perform and write investigation reports, perform QC testing review of intermediate and finished products, to ensure batches are released timely, perform testing (if needed). You will learn many useful soft-skills, e.g. Multi-tasking, time-management, communication, problem solving, leadership skills.
The challengesToo much workload with low pay. Deadline are very tight as you are required to perform QC testing review of intermediate and finished products and run validation projects concurrently. You need to learn to multi-task and manage your time wisely.

Great MNC exposure but typical SG work culture
The good thingsGreat learning curve in an American healthcare MNC. Stable environment especially since the focus is in healthcare. A decent work-life balance can be achieved once you're experienced in the job. Good medical benefits for employees. Free shuttle bus to and fro between Kranji MRT and office.
The challengesNot difficult to adapt to typical manufacturing problems; work load can feel stagnant over time once you're experienced plus without regional exposure. Increased cost cutting strategies with current CEO. Long staying colleagues hanging on for stability, difficult to suggest / implement change. Mostly baby bloomers in the corporate functions. Structures and people can be rigid and backward thinking at times. Don't expect to find or instill best practices here. Compensation is slightly lower compared to other manufacturing firms (production is restricted by manpower on assembly line, instead of mass production via machines) hence need to keep costs tight. Limited food selection in the plant, need to travel out.

    Good Exposure / bad advancement
The good thingsThey have proper training and documentation where you could see process of paperwork which sometimes could be overwhelming. Colleagues at Technical service are friendly. As field service, we visit the users (hospitals) interact and communicate with them which is good and makes the job lively.
The challengesThere is no proper advancement program or training for staff to sign up. Too much paperwork that restrict the amount of real work done.
