Programme Profile
Singapore Red Cross Medical Chaperone and Transportation (MCT) programme provides Medical Escort and Transportation services to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who face challenges attending their medical appointments or therapy sessions. Our service caters to various different transport and ancillary needs such as wheelchair transport, medical transporter conveyance, and accompanied escorts, ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients throughout their journey.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the chaperone services provided to our clients.
Key responsibilities
● Handle the referral process for new clients received from the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)
● Arrange and conduct home visits for new and existing clients to assess their needs and ensure proper chaperone support
● Assign chaperones on a weekly basis
● Accompany clients/seniors from their homes to scheduled medical appointments and back home safely
● Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during transport and medical appointments, providing necessary care and assistance as required
● Assist clients with navigating the hospital, including helping with prescription collection and noting upcoming medical appointments
● Organize and arrange training sessions for chaperones to enhance their skills and knowledge
Any Other Duties
● Undertake or participate in department and society events or activities
● Any other ad-hoc projects
Requirements
● Willingness to learn
● Good interpersonal and communication skills
● Strong organizational and coordination skills
● Proficient in written and spoken English
● Ability to speak in dialect is a plus
● Familiarity with local healthcare facilities and medical procedures is an advantage
