Manager - Expense Management
As a member of the dynamic Business Finance team, you will be responsible for management reporting, overseeing expense budgets, and evaluating projects. In this role, you will support the Expense Management - Business Finance Team Lead by coordinating the management and distribution of expenses, monitoring project progress, and delivering insightful business analytics.
- Responsible for the review and standardisation of the Group Policy on Expenditure Approval & Procurement and the Group Expenditure Approval Operating Guidelines, with emphasis on governance and control frameworks.
- Participated in the evaluation of Group-wide business initiatives by assessing program design, budget sufficiency, proposed metrics, business deliverables, and cost reasonableness, while offering guidance to Local Entities.
- Conducted expense management reviews by analysing spending trends to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and drove standardisation of expense practices across the Group.
- Reviewed and validated bi-monthly disbursements to distribution intermediaries via DCMS.
- Collaborated in the preparation and consolidation of budget templates for the annual groupwide Business Planning exercise, providing strategic support and guidance to Local Entities.
- Led process improvements in data preparation to enable deeper expense analysis.
- Proactively identified opportunities to enhance and streamline reporting and analytical processes.
- Supported the Team Lead on project assignments and ad-hoc requests as required.
- Holder of a Degree or Diploma in Finance or a related discipline, with a background in finance operations.
- 5 years of professional experience, ideally within the insurance sector and involving finance operations.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and operational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong analytical capabilities.
- Driven, goal-oriented, and resourceful in achieving objectives.
- Meticulous attention to detail while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of key issues.
- Proactive, independent, and self-motivated individual.
- Capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision or management direction.
