How to become an Optometrist
To become an Optometrist in Singapore you need to meet specific educational requirements and training in specialised eye equipment. This includes a bachelor degree and registration.

Complete a bachelor degree in optometry with an accredited university. This can take up to four years which includes one year of paid pre-registration and supervised work.

Pass the final assessment conducted by the General Optical Council.

Register as an optometrist and get your registration certificate (RC) and licence certificate (LC) from the Optometrists & Opticians Board.

Consider undertaking advanced studies in optometry and eye care. Being updated with the latest innovations, techniques and regulations (which are overseen by the Singapore Ministry of Health) will increase opportunities in progressing your career as an Optometrist.
