Safety Coordinators are typically employed in industrial settings involving food, construction, and manufacturing. They assess if a workplace follows the government’s workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations and create standards to reduce job-related accidents and injuries.
Tasks and duties

During implementation, Safety Coordinators may train employees on WSH practices. These safety professionals usually have a strong working knowledge of the equipment and processes involved in the specific industries they’re involved in.
How to become a Safety Coordinator
Safety Coordinators need strong knowledge of the trade they’re evaluating. Formal education and experience are required.
Get an advanced certificate in workplace safety and health (WSH). There are many organisations that offer such programmes that target specific industries.
Gain professional experience. Look for jobs that don’t require previous experience, such as Junior Safety Coordinator. Learn as much as you can from your on-the-job training.
