2 years 2 months with terrible pay, but the people I've met in attached companies made the experience so much better.
The good thingsCan provide opportunities to learn archi/c&s/m&e, okay-ish stepping stone and can meet potential employers from attached companies.
The challengesThe management lanjiao, and the pay is terrible. You can't survive with this pay. They will sneakily extend your contract if you take NPL.

    Great start of my career
The good thingsThis company helped me a lot to have a good start in BIM. They widely accept fresh graduates and trained us to be ready in a real-world situation whether it's on and off site. Also, they have a good set of clients, and you can be part of those big companies that can also help me gain personal connections. I can say that this is a great steppingstone to explore my specialties in BIM field.
The challengesMaybe the one that can be improved is, sometimes I work with the discipline that is not my scope anymore. Example, I have a Diploma in Architecture but sometimes they will attach me in an MEP job. This is confusing, but if you're going to focus on the positive side, it could help you learn also - not only Archi but also other discipline. At least, you know everything.

    I recommend this company
The good thingsApplying at AcePLP for 26 months as a Mechanical BIM Engineer is the most productive 26 months of my life. I have learned the operating principles of electrical and electronic systems, types of failure and prevention methods, types of diagnostic equipment and tools, etc. Not only that, my level of skills also upgraded from merely performing, maintaining, troubleshooting, now to diagnosing electronic systems. Kudos to the management team, very well systematized and reliable! If I have kids who also want to become successful engineers one day, I’d choose AcePLP for them to begin their careers.
The challengesthe early pay was a bit low but understandable

I don't regret building my BIM career here
The good thingsI had the best time working at AcePLP. The company was able to equip me with the necessary skills needed to land my first job as a trained engineer to various consultants and contractors in Singapore through a proprietary assessment process. The 26-month career program set me on the pathway of getting the Digital Delivery Management Lead accreditation. I must say, everything I know, starting from the digital skills, design decision skills to the job experiences I have today, I owe to AcePLP. The healthy work environment at this company is just a bonus.
The challengesThe starting salary was a bit low but very reasonable

    The best on-the-job experience
The good thingsI could say that Ace PLP was the best decision I made to jumpstart my engineering career. The 26-month structured Career Advancement Programme taught me digital skills; like creating and simulating building and infrastructure models before actual construction. The pieces of training and the projects helped me better my design decisions and build my confidence in getting any job done efficiently. I have no regrets that I build my work experience at this company. Not only, it developed my career but it also made me appreciate my chosen profession even more.
The challengesThere were some minimal challenges like the work environment at the beginning but it was easy for me to adjust since everyone is so warm, welcoming, and helpful.

    Equal treatment of employees
The good thingsThis is the first company where I felt like I've been treated equally. I didn't have to do any job that was not written on my job description. Every instruction was made clear since the beginning so I didn't have a hard time adjusting. Trainings were hands-on and I saw how everyone were extremely organized.
The challengesThere were some adjustments that I made but it was only for the first week of working here.

The good thingsI like the enthusiasm that each of the team members were showing. There was not a time that a coworker hesitated to offer help for the the beginners. The work environment was very healthy resulting to increased productivity.
The challengesThe company was growing so fast, because of it the employees were also challenged to double time to be able to comply our work efficiently.

    Employment stability and flexible leaves
The good thingsEmployment stability. Always guaranteed a client company to be attached to. If things go ugly at the workplace, you can always give the 1-month termination notice and start work at another client company immediately. Flexiblity of taking leave. Although you don't have many annual leaves, you can take leave easily, as long as it's not like on the day itself or day before a final submission of drawings.
The challengesSalary was pretty low at the start, and not many annual leaves are given.

Baptism of fire - Rice cooker, popcorn popping
The good thingsGiven lots of favorable opportunity for me to be groomed as a trainer and as a Project Management. They sent me for overseas courses and local HQ training academy of the respective software developers, to learn from them directly. I was appointed to lead projects and charged with a team of 5 to 20 BIM modellers and coordinators to complete BIM/Drafting projects and network with the Authority and Project Owners who tenders those projects.
The challengesNo guidance at the higher level, everything had to be learnt myself along the way. I was reading up and studying the processes most of the time and then had to straight away execute the required actions for the team to progress and meet the Project deliverable given the contractual submission dates. I had to be sent for courses and take up part-time such as specialist diploma studies, not once, not twice but several times over the employment duration to learn and understand the required software, processes and regulation involved.

An opportunity to learn while working.
The good thingsGet relevant skills training and support at work. There is no need to consider other things besides work, and the company can help you with other related matters. For newcomers who have just left school and stepped into the workplace, it is very helpful.Great for my first full time job. Therefore, it is also recommended for other recent graduates to try.
The challengesNeed to face different customers and different projects often. Every customer change is a new challenge, especially for me who have a poor communication skills.Different customers have different requirements for you. Sometimes a good customer will provide a good working experience, but vice versa.

A good jump start in my career
The good thingsAs a fresh grad I've gone through a very tight competition for job seekers in construction industry like most of the companies will prefer experienced professionals. By joining AcePLP, I was given an opportunity to gain software skills and hands-on knowledge for my on-site assignments. After I finished the Apprenticeship Program, I've widen my network and big companies are the one who's contacting me for job offers.
The challengesThey must improve the pay scheme and employee benefits.

Good experience but don't expect a high salary
The good thingsGot the chance to gain exposure to BIM and the industry in general... although the training is limited, the trainers would still provide support from the main office during my external attachments so its not as scary. The 2 months training is only enough to learn the basics of the software... you only really know how to use it during the onsite attachments
The challengesHonestly the pay is not the best. About 2000ish only and that is before CPF. But at the end of the 26 months (if your attached client likes you), usually you will be hired by them as a full time staff. Then your pay will increase to your real market value ;)
