Toxic Management Overshadows Everything ElseThe good thingsThe pantry lady is truly the heart of the company. She prepares amazing food for staff during daily tea breaks, and her kindness is one of the few bright spots in the workplace.
The challengesUnfortunately, upper management creates a very toxic and demoralizing environment. Staff are often spoken to disrespectfully — being scolded and called demeaning names. There’s a lack of basic respect, and employee feedback is routinely ignored. Management seems to believe they’re always right, with little regard for those actually doing the work.
High salaries are given to newly hired staff who do not generate sales, while other staff are overburdened and often blamed for management’s poor decisions. When things go wrong, employees are made scapegoats and dismissed unfairly. It appears terminations are used to cover up internal mismanagement.
Advice to Management:
Start treating your staff with dignity and respect. Listen to their perspectives and value their contributions. A company cannot grow if it continuously demoralizes the very people keeping it running.
