The Montessori Method was founded in Italy by Dr. Maria Montessori.Montessori education aims to provide a stimulating environment where children can explore using their sensorial skills. Children learn at their own level of ability, teachers understanding this encourage children as they develop at their own pace which creates enjoyment in children as they learn.The Montessori Method teaches children to be independent from an early age by giving the children tasks of responsibility, such as; tying shoe laces, cleaning up after completion of their meals, keeping their environment clean, etc…Unlike the conventional schools, children are not expected to conform to a set of standard, the Montessori Method understands the uniqueness of every child and it takes their different needs into consideration, therefore children are not expected or criticized for what they are unable to achieve.At Arts Junior Montessori, the materials available for learning are originally designed by Dr. Maria Montessori; other materials we use are designed by our trained teachers who have studied the Montessori Methods. Children are taught to respect the Montessori materials and to take care of them. Along with respect of materials, the Montessori Method also encourages children to respect and help one another learn.The environment of Arts Junior Montessori is peaceful and facilitates learning.
