Great place to work in for exposure and learning
The good things- Good boss (Governance risk partner is very nice, understanding, funny, willing to share, friendly and approachable. One of the best boss in Singapore ) - Good colleagues (Colleagues are helpful and friendly. Fun bunch of people to work with and hang out with. No politics since progression is pretty fix and hence, you wouldn't see any much of backstabbing to climb the corporate ladder in this dept) - Great and steep learning curve (There’s a lot to learn and see in different companies, how they operate and etc. Luckily, seniors and managers are willing to teach! Can just ask them any questions~ Learning and training is coming more from the job and through seniors) - Great global exposure (A handful of travelling opportunities: approx 20- 30% in a year. Will get to see how companies in overseas operate and how mgt manage the companies. May get to explore the city during weekend when you are on overseas work trip. I super love travelling for work! Also, when travelling, there's per diem allowances and one time off winter allowances for you to buy winter stuff) - Able to hone good networking and communication skills as this job require you to communicate and liaise with clients most of the time in terms of getting information and documents. (Stakeholder mgt) - Great co-colleagues of the same level office (Governance risk dept is situated at level 4 with deal advisory and corporate restructuring. All are very nice people who you can chitchat talk with) - Great office environment (You get your own desk in Governance risk dept. No hot desk there for Governance Risk Dept) - Fun activities to participate in. As there are ISCA games going on yearly, company provide training sessions for these games. Good time to meet other dept and play games together (i.e. Darts, badminton, bowling ...) - Good corporate social responsibility. Company promote giving back to society. Just last xmas in 2017, Company make employees to participate in community service work instead of having xmas lunch. (It’s meaningful ) - Sponsored ONE professional membership. - Claim are timely processed - Leave encashment upon resignation - Medical insurance for employees (i.e. AVIVA if I never remember wrongly) - Starting pay for graduates is comparable to Big 4 and could be higher than some other mid-tier acctg firms. (P.S. This review is given by Kris. Other review(s) by Governance Risk consultant- not by Kris. HAHA!)
The challenges- Fast pace. You will have to be able to handle stress as you might need to work under tight deadline/ few projects at a time. OT will be required for certain engagements. - Limited company welfare since company is of mid-tier size. Comparing to big 4, the welfare is definitely lesser but in comparison to other mid-tier firms, it is definitely one of the better one! At least the bond for new comer is relatively shorter (1 year) and there is no laptop bond. (P.S. This review is given by Kris. Other review(s) by Governance Risk consultant- not by Kris. HAHA)

    A decently average company
The good things- Good Boss: A very friendly and reasonable Boss(Head of G&R division) - Great Colleagues: Very friendly managers and hardworking colleagues - Prospects: Decent progression, Work 4 years to be manager.(almost 100% certain) - Salary increment: 1 year 1 increment (just like all professional services firm) - Opportunity to travel frequently to Asian countries.
The challenges- Low to Average starting pay (Industry norm) - Working hours: Long working hours (Industry norm) - Sub-par benefits: no 13th month, and some miscellaneous petty company policy (kinda makes employee angry when they are working hard for the company) - Work procedures can be better standardized and knowledge can be better retained for increased efficiency
