I wouldn't recommend this company. Low pay, toxic, and unhelpful office staffs
The good thingsWorking with some helpful colleagues to help with the software. More helpful than the managers and office support. Great Van.
The challengesDealing with aggressive clients on the job and trying to stay calm when trying to get the job done. Dealing with office support that isn't supportive at all and creates more problems, like avoiding you when you ask for help, such as fixing the software issues. Lack of training with a software that I was unfamiliar with in the first week, creating more problems that could have been avoided, and finding the office staff are very unhelpful. Only able to get help from experienced colleagues and a supervisor.

All in all a pretty good company to work for. Nowhere is perfect.
The good things- Decent variety of work for the most part. - Always paid ontime. - Decent bunch of guys in the field. - Helpful management and no toxic individuals.
The challenges- Workflow system desperately needs updating as it's starting to really eat into productivity. - More staff! mainly admin/support staff who should be in the same state as the techs in the field. - Contracts seem to be made to almost run even and not make a profit which is baffling to me. - Communication in regards to new works and/or contracts coming. - I feel like the company has based itself on the east coast and is branching out like an anorexic octopus.

My experience at BGIS has been positive overall, delivering projects with safety‑focused culture
The good thingsThe company has well‑defined processes and governance frameworks, which help ensure consistency, compliance, and accountability across projects. Teams are generally collaborative and supportive, with colleagues willing to share knowledge and assist when challenges arise. This contributes to a positive and respectful workplace culture.
The challengesDue to the scale and complexity of contracts, staff often manage multiple stakeholders, assets, and deliverables simultaneously, which can create workload pressure, especially during peak periods or mobilisation phases. Teams are often focused on day‑to‑day service delivery, which can limit available time to work on strategic improvements, innovation, or process optimisation.

The good thingsBGIS is a professional company with strong focus on safety, compliance, and structured processes. The team is supportive , and the work environment is encourages learning and development. A good place to build experience in facilities maintenance

    Good work environment, backwards systems
The good thingsThe people are good to work with. They really focus on safety here. You are trusted to run your own schedule which is nice. Stress free environment.
The challenges-The job and quoting system really needs to be changed. - It’s hard working under a team leader who is not trade specific for that certain team. For example, a HVAC/Electrcian who looks over a plumbing team. Makes it very hard to out forward approvals and specific quotes. - onboarding was very slow and unorganised but there was ample time allowed which was good.

Got through the interview stage, didn't make it further. Trying to find out why, but nothing. Now the position has been re-advertised under a different title. Heard from different sources to stay away, but wanted to find out for myself. Now I know why.

Varied and enlightening role with lots of opportunity.
The good thingsThe spread and variety of project available to work on keep my days interesting and engaging. The project frameworks and documentation have already been mapped out and created making the process easier. I've found all of my colleagues very supportive and accommodating. Combined with everything mentioned above, this is a strong case to stay here long term and grow with the company.
The challengesOnboarding was a lot of online modules and information overload. This made it less likely for me to retain the valuable points presented. Additionally, due to the volume of acquisitions BGIS has made, it is yet to complete the clean of the platforms and systems it uses. There are too many.
