    not pleasant but learnt alot
The good thingslearn alot. however future employers don't seem to "see" how complicated a customer service work involves. thankfully built a decent amount of good colleagues
The challengesabout half of the superiors or more were not capable. zero career advancement opportunities. backend seem relatively unproductive compared to call centre having to constantly be extremely productive

The challengesUnclear directions, processes and frequent re-organisation. Staff perks could be improved.

    Decent workload and work-life balance
The good thingsA classic statutory board where you enjoy great bonus structure and the workload is not overbearing. Colleagues are great in general as well. Nice office with only the basic products provided in pantry. Conveniently located at Novena Square, where you can commute to work just via train.
The challengesDifficult to get job promotions as the public service will look at your educational qualifications. Promotions do occur but pay increment will stagnate the longer you stay. Recommend to only join if you are seeking for a job that you can work till you retire. If you prefer a job with more growth opportunities, you should consider other jobs and maybe in the private sector.

    Self-Centered Management, Toxic workplace
The good thingsThe office is near the train station.
The challengesToxic culture in the workplace, peers are not helpful for fear of their own rice bowl. Middle managers only have the 'power' to critic English grammar, which confuses everyone else. Upper management is cautious in everything and therefore nothing gets done.

    Fruitful and friendly workplace
The good thingsThe seniors and supervisors at the workplace were extremely patient and were more than willing to share their knowledge.
The challengesDid not really experience any negative challenges while working at the company. This could be due to the fact that my stint there was short.

Great environment to learn CPF schemes and deal with difficult members
The good thingsUnderstanding and caring superiors, family oriented culture at Woodlands Branch Service Centre and cultivate great teamwork with fellow colleagues. OT rates x 1.5 applies. Need to be ready by your respective work stations by 8am before the doors open to the public and can end work on the dot at 5pm. Very good pay and quite easy for a temporary contract job.
The challengesNo career progression, it's only a monthly extendable contract job. No bonus. If worked for at least 3 mths, will have medical leave but can only claim up to $15 per month. Need to work at least 1 year to get 7 days AL. Standard routine everyday, work gets boring and stagnant. Need to learn how to handle difficult/unreasonable members, be patient with elderlies.

    Decent working environment
The good thingsFriendly colleagues if you are a good worker. The working requirements depend on the branch you work at. I've worked at two different branches, and both are slightly different in the way they handle things. However, CPF content are the same. OT is rare, but you are paid for it as long as the officer in charge allows. This means higher salary sometimes, which is a nice bonus. Nice OICs will also make you feel like a part of the CPF family and make the place really enjoyable to work at. However, this depends on which OIC is assigned and which branch you are located at.
The challengesDue to the difference in work duties depending on the branch you are allocated, the work experience may vary. In some places, you will need to shoulder more responsibilities compared to working in another branch depending on how much the officer in charge of the temporary staffs are willing to protect you when you make mistakes. The other temporary staff are those that you will work the most with, other than your officer in charge. Thus, every month's working environment may change due to the change in colleagues, for better or worse.

The good thingsNice office, especially for top management.
The challengesTop down approach, bureaucratic. Hours can be very long. Timeline can be unreasonable. Many times, work need to be rushed over the weekend so that it be presented early to the bosses so that they have ample time to review. Generally, the people at the mddle mgr slough alot harder than the top.

The challengesToo many re-organization done within a year spear headed by the senior management causing too many readjustment need to be done on the ground level and staff has to do many adjustment from time to time so as to re adapt etc due to the restructure.
