Good but it could be better
The good things1) Work life balance except project peak period. 2) Flexible working hour 3) Good teamwork
The challenges1) Too many low to middle management giving contradicting directions without solving the actual bottleneck of the project 2) Too many unnecessary process and documentation that does not contribute the quality of the software. They are just for reporting purpose 3) Not much technical skill growth after initial phase

Great working space, not so ample opportunities to grow
The good thingsInnovation Centre at its best, this place is full of brainy individuals. Understanding superior, and got lucky to be in a good team. Great amenities and monthly freebies (fruits and nuts) to encourage healthy eating habits.
The challengesNot enough opportunities to grow. Would be great if there is career advancement initiatives being provided even for external staffs. This is to ensure that external staffs are being groomed to be potential permanent staffs.

A trusted, freedom, result oriented german company
The good thingsA company whereby your direct supervisor or leader giving you 100% trusted on what you doing, as long as complete the task within the timeline. As for the culture, German company giving freedom beside boundaries on what you doing. For instance, you are allowed to work from home in some cases, but we need to ensure it is work from home, but not rest at home.
The challengesFacing and handling 1500++ staff is not easy and it is impossible to fulfill all request. Follow the company standard and find the balance point in between. For example, make a good relationship among colleagues will helps alots in your works.

    Mar 2017
Singapore1 to 2 years in the role, current employee
    Good learning experience
The good thingsOrganised company and processes Possibility to be exposed to other business sites, production sites, as well as customer. As a multinational company with wide range of technical expertise, it is possible to get support from various other business units and central services, which may have already gained knowledge from other products/ projects already implemented. This helps in supporting the project execution.
The challengesAs a big company, there are over significant overheads. In this specific business unit I am working in, the pace is very fast and having a huge team tends to slow it down. It is difficult to find a good balance. In some departments, the roles and responsibilities are drawn too clearly.

Blocked by the ceiling after 3 years

The challengesThe Singapore location is relatively small, hence not so many projects are available. Experienced engineers are hard to get elevated due to lack of opportunities.

Company that provides stability and flexibility
The good things1. Working hours The company offers certain level of flexibility in the working hours as it recognizes the additional hours contributed by the employees. 2. Location The company is located near Boon Keng MRT station, which is easily accessible from any parts of Singapore. 3. Stability The company offers job security and is constantly ramping up its work force in Singapore.
The challenges1. Compensation package The company has forfeited the AWS some years back. Also, the management believes the main contributor to attrition rate is not the salary package but other factors. Thus, it does not strives to provide the most competitive salary to the employees. It typically offers something average to the market rate. Variable bonus is offered but AWS is no longer available.

Project Manager, Infotainment & Connectivity (IC) and Instrumentation & Driver HMI (ID)
The good thingsAs Project Manager, you were given opportunities to lead project teams and develop interesting products for automotive customers. Responsible for R&D budget/expenditures, samples planning to fulfil customer's specifications and importantly, product deliverables to customer based on their vehicle schedule.
The challengesTo keep track on numerous customer's change requests despite maintaining customer's timeline. This involved leading R&D team to conduct evaluation of the change request, manpower/materials cost analysis & check timing impact to the customer's scheduling.
