Challenging and funThe good thingsThe team was very supportive in terms of teamwork and training, they gave opportunities to learn the various functions of a customer service department in a big store. Things like CRM and dealing with the warehouse were aspects of the training. Quality management was also one of the things interns were exposed to.
The challengesThe store I worked in was a bit different to other IKEA stores, the warehouse was above the store and items had to be brought down by service elevator, the elevator was pretty slow and there was a tendency for a jam during times of high shopping volume. As a result, staff were faced with pretty irate customers on weekends.
