What’s it like working at LASALLE College of the Arts?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at LASALLE College of the Arts appreciate the competitive compensation and good employee benefits offered in the local education market. The college's location in an affordable part of the city, with ample food options and public transportation, is also seen as a positive. The friendly work environment, flexible working hours, and quieter periods during 'low season' contribute to a favourable work experience. Additionally, some employees find the work to be creative and challenging.

However, there are potential areas for improvement. Employees have noted a lack of effective communication and collaboration between departments, with changes being implemented without proper consultation. Some have encountered inefficient education administration processes. A few employees have also reported a lack of support from relevant departments when executing their duties. There is also a perception among some that promotions and increments are given to favoured individuals, which could impact morale.

A reality check for the experienced but good exposure for new entrant
The good thingsSalary range is slightly on the high side, and the employee benefits are really good in the local education market. Alot of food options and public transportation choices around , and the location is in an affordable part of the city. People are generally friendly, and the working hours and practices are quite flexible. When its 'low season', can get really quiet and free.
The challengesDisjointed approach primarily affects the executives, while senior management is "trying to make something work." Departments lack effective communication and collaboration which is very obvious that it has been the case for many years. Departments make changes without consulting each other first before implementation. They are quite active on meetings and discussions (depends on which department I guess). Employees can't really focus solely on their core responsibilities as managing of other tasks somehow will affect in your daily business. Pretty inefficient education administration processes I've encountered.
