Do not recommend working in QC
The good thingsNone. Stay away from the Quality Control (QC) department.
The challengesLack of team cohesion. Negative blame culture. Overwork. Long hours. Always exploiting those in intern / trainee / junior positions.

    Good place for beginner
The good thingsGood place to gain experience, need to handle many tasks that beyond your scope. Have opportunity to work closely with different departments and functions , Good company policy to staffs
The challengesBlaming culture is quite strong, pushing problems or personal mistakes to others especially to junior roles. Co-workers are not playing as a team to complete the projects

    Poor management, toxic environment.
The good thingsGood transportation. That's about it though.
The challengesManagement does not listen to people and just impose their view and rules on employee. - Zero compassion or understanding from management. - Management very close-minded and borderline sadistic - High blaming culture. Instead of trying to work together to solve matters, cross functional departments are hostile and difficult to work with as a team.

    Review would not go through
The good thingsWebsite would share the review as is? Ya right. Have tried submitting multiple times, it would not even appear.
The challengesWrote a few paragraphs detailing the challenges but apparently the reviews just wouldn't publish, no matter how many times I rephrase. I guess you're just not allowed to speak honestly. So I will just rate accordingly instead.

Not a good company to work for.
The good thingsTime passes so fast because the work schedule is so hectic and you're constantly overworked.
The challengesEvery small little thing such as human error is a “deviation” that needs to be addressed by adding unnecessary steps to the process, making it more convoluted than before.

    Performance evaluation based on PR
The good thingsColleagues are friendly, but it depends on your department.
The challengesYou can do your job really well but still end up missing out on “exceed expectations” or being given “below expectations” in your performance review because there is a “quota” to be met. Someone has to be given a bad performance review because that is the company policy. Believe when I say that review isn't always based on your performance, your relationship with your manager is more important.

    Intern

Not a good place for internship
The good thingsInternship “allowance” is the lowest among biomedical companies
The challengesWoefully understaffed in some department. Excessive amount of menial housekeeping duties get thrown to the intern or whoever is the lowest rank. Picture yourself cleaning and wiping bottles in a hot and stuffy environment everyday for 6 months.

Toxic and gaslighting. A really bad experience.
The good thingsWow. Who doesn't enjoy getting blamed for things that they didn't do?
The challengesManagement in a certain department tries to gaslight and make employees question their reality by sowing discord and pushing blame. Oh, and HR is completely useless. Great job guys.

    My previous review got deleted.
The good thingsBe careful of the HR department. Don't trust them.
The challengesThis company is so thin-skinned. Perhaps you should care about your employees instead of online reviews.

    Lack of transparency
The good thingsOnly if you like waking up at 5am to travel to Tuas South.
The challengesPervasive culture of blame. Lousy site quality head. Lack of empathy. Career progression is non-existent.

    Intern in Quality Department

    Avoid internship at this company
The good thingsThere is nothing good to say about this internship experience. You will learn nothing.
The challengesInefficient, old school mindset, blame culture. They have *a lot* of menial tasks (saikang) that keep piling up yet refuse to hire enough people for it. Hence, they throw all of them to interns. You can spend 6 months at this internship attachment and learn absolutely nothing. All you will ever do is cleaning, housekeeping and other forms of manual labor, and the saikang workload is so overwhelming that you will never finish it, no matter how much you rush, because new ones just keep coming in. No one will help you. So, be prepared to spend all your time doing menial labor from 8am to 5pm every single day by yourself.

    Learning Curves
The good things- Understanding bosses - Bonus is tie to good performances, so motivator to do well - Stability in the company
The challenges- Not much career advancement for my job title, cross functional or vertical. -1 person department, so no backup in case of annual leave, MC or childcare leave - need to access emails on the go at times. - Slow to implement changes when proposed, need constant reminders to get things going.

Best experience on Bio-Pharmaceutical medicine producation
The good thingsLearning from what I had learned in ITE CE, it is similar just that on an industrial scale.
The challengesFor a month, it is dried as the need to do a lot of necessary courses and SOP reading to read before starting.

Great Working Culture within Team and across departments (for the most part)
The good thingsGreat team. Great collaboration between departments. When critical issues happen, Lonza works very fast and collaboratively to solve it. Learning opportunities were great. I had a great direct report.
The challengesCustomer Demands cause we are a CMO. Timelines and issues come up last minute. A lot of ad hoc things may come up. Work life balance is a challenge. Not very good at giving opportunity to work in other departments within the company. Due to the nature of the company, there is tons to do and within short timeline. But at times, we lack the time and focus to improve current things that were \" good\".

    workplace/culture review
The good thingsNature of the work (making products for clinical use that actually save lives), competent colleagues
The challengesNeed to be ultra careful at all times when producing. Quality assurance team makes anything not in line with the norm a deviation sometimes forcibly/without good reason, even when the issue has no impact to product. Blaming culture instilled in workplace when there are deviations. Most times no guidance from management for non-routine tasks. Promotions are hard to come by.
