Methodist Girls’ School was founded in 1887 by Sophia Blackmore, an Australian missionary sent by the Methodist Episcopal Church in America to establish a school for girls in Singapore. MGS is a full school: the Secondary School was granted independent status in 1989 while the Primary School remains an aided school.The school see as her mission `to educate every girl in a Christian environment To Master, To Grow and To Serve in every phase of her life’.
