PCF Sparkletots overwhelms teachers with excessive workloads, lack of support, no relief staff, and additional administrative duties, leading to stress, burnout, and frustration despite management being aware of these challenges.
The good thingsThe curriculum is pre-prepared, requiring only modifications. The organization also offers professional development opportunities through training and workshops to help educators enhance their skills.
The challengesWe face overwhelming workloads handling paperwork admin task and parent communication Despite having admin staff, we must manage unresponsive parents and organize field trips. There's no relief staff, even when management knows in advance, leaving usoverworked, leading to burnout/frustrations.

    High turnover of Centre Admins
The good thingsSeeing the children in school, do make our stress goes away
The challengesBelow are the key challenges I faced as a Centre Admin: 1. Lack of Proper Guidance: There was minimal support or training provided to help new staff navigate the role. This lack of guidance left us struggling to perform effectively, often leading to confusion about our primary responsibilities. 2. Unreliable Leadership: Managers appeared approachable and caring on the surface but were quick to shift blame when issues arose. This created an environment of distrust and left staff feeling unsupported. 3. Blurred Boundaries: The nature of the job heavily depends on the Centre Principal. Unfortunately, in my case, boundaries were not respected, and unrealistic expectations were imposed. 4. Unreasonable Additional Responsibilities: - Centre Administrators were frequently tasked with duties outside our job scope, such as covering teachers during their breaks or assisting with food preparation without proper certifications. Despite raising concerns about these tasks, we were told that "Centre Administrators should not draw the line." This left us feeling unheard and undervalued. - Volunteer Work Under Pretext: We were also scheduled to participate in various activities like assisting at old folks' homes or attending meet-the-people sessions, presented as "volunteer work." While giving back to the community is meaningful, these activities felt like mandatory assignments rather than voluntary contributions. These issues often left us unable to focus on our core responsibilities, which is incredibly disheartening. I hope the organization takes these concerns seriously and implements changes to provide better support and clarity for its staff.

I have studied the Early Childhood Course as well as working for almost 2 years at Early Childhood Centre. Learned so much, both in theory and practical aspects of Early Childhood Education..
The good thingsWatching the infants growing up and going through their various stages of physical, intellectual emotional, and social development is a tremendous satisfaction to me.
The challengesStaff turnover for English Teachers. The standard of English by Teachers (especially spoken English) can be improved, as this will have a profound impact on the early learners. Infants learn their vocabulary from listening to what their Teachers say to them.

    Average workplace
The good thingsRoutine duties on daily basis
The challengesBreak in routine work. All staffs, who are above administrative assistant level, handed over works, which have been accumulated over days, to me to do. Then, department manager handed his stuffs over to me and demanded me to do it for him ASAP. (During the last 1 week) At the last few days before my last day of service, all staffs in General Service and Operations department within Infrastructure and Support Services division either went on leave (i.e. half or full day ) or went for course. The whole department only left with me. Executive assistant went to attend meeting on behalf of department manager.

Good place to start and learn, however not to stay for long unless you are of retiring age.
The good thingsDepending on the branch that you are attached to, you may have a great working experience or you may not. For me, the colleagues I worked with are wonderful people. We help each other out and have a bond like family. There's always learning going on between each other as we are all willing to share our experiences. The children were sometimes tough to work with, and even when experiences with parents are tough, it's always a good learning point.
The challengesWorking hours for teachers in kindergarten is relatively long, from 7.45am to 5.15pm. Depending on your time table, you may have up to an hour or two hours of non contact time to complete your work. That is relatively short as we need to do very hands-on work such as decorating classroom, planning activities etc. Lunch break for an hour. My colleagues were quite wonderful, however depending on who your superiors are it may be tough to get acknowledgement of your contribution. It is a very top down approach in my center. However like I said it really depends on which branch you are in, as I've got friends who are very happy in other centres. Lastly, the pay is quite meagre for the amount of work we do.
