There is chance where you will be working for a long term but ur job scope is wide array of duties that are not fixed or common.
The good thingsThere is work life balance, Employers are flexible and you can WFH once per week for office staff. Benefits are good
The challengesWhen start work, if the position is not an existing position or operation position, ur job is probably very vague.

    It used to be GOOD.
The good thingsThe company use to be great. It gives you insight on how company works. Their managers are always patient in guiding new staff to adapt to this new work place.
The challengesAll good things have to end. Most of the staff did not receive their meals voucher despite being promised in the contract. More staff and partimers getting retrench die to covid 19. For me the lack of care for the workers will eventually hurt the company's standard in the future.

Always cutting cost. Overworking remaining staff and leaders.
The good thingsLearning about new cuisine. Especially Japanese cuisine. Leaders, chef and management always helpful.
The challengesAlways cutting manpower. In outlets during peak period ( like Christmas). Doesn't allow more manpower. Due to the Coronavirus, cut cost till only few waiter , chef and kitchen staff. Remaining people overworked when business is good.

    Working outcome
    The good thingsBenefits so so...
The challenges1. Upgrading own skills & certification is a challenge. Company doesn't do sponsorship, so it's a own time own target. If you're working in office, and doesn't have much family commitment, you can go take up part time night classes. 2. Alot of overseas colleagues, so make sure you're bilingual (Eng & chi OR chi & Malay)

    playing restaurant city on hard
The good thingsThe manager is nice. Sometimes there is also nice customers, those that smile back in return which makes you think that all that the effort is worthwhile. Free sushi to eat at the end of the day which is also an auto include in this section
The challengesBut on the other end of the spectrum, we got the customers that thinks that my ancestors owe them a living. Despite trying my best to be polite and listen to their requests, they are extremely rude and do not give back the respect that i show them. Also the restaurant is extremely busy during lunch and dinner hours.

The good thingsThe manager for the branch I worked in (Takashimaya) was very kind and genuinely cared for the employee's well-being. She knew I had school activities immediately after work and she bought me food, knowing that i'll be hungry. The job was tough and sometimes there wouldn't have enough utensils, but it's all part and parcel of working in f&b.
The challengesI found the job hazardous at times, and there were a few times i sprained my wrist and scalded myself. (My fault btw). There were also many occasions whereby I had to prepare multiple deserts alone with minimal helps but its all part of the job scope i guess!!
