Overall okay, but some departments can be stressful—research before joining.
The good thingsgood workspace to work in
The challengesManagement could consider being more supportive and approachable towards employees, as there are instances where staff may find it challenging to share their concerns. Encouraging open communication and ensuring that all issues are addressed fairly and consistently could help foster greater trust and transparency within the team.

Toxic work culture with poor leadership and lack of teamwork.
The good thingsWorking for a cause and some friendly people.
The challengesBias and favouritism are common in the RD department. There's a serious lack of teamwork, and some managers resort to gaslighting. Communication is poor, and people management needs major improvement.

Poor work-life balance, but good cause!
The good thingsWorking for the cause, and the knowledge that you are helping someone out there (was present during the India Covid-19 Response).
The challengesWork-life balance is non-existent, and superiors do not provide enough guidance and observation for new staff. (Mentioned that they are willing to guide, but when a question is posed, said superiors seem bothered by question). Understand staff might be busy and entire department is probably understaffed, but retention of staff is important, and a good first few months can either make or break that. Also, turnover rate is high, which says something.

Good work life balance and not much else, bad management
The good thingsWork life balance, some good colleagues of the same rank as you. Knowing the work you do helps beneficiaries.
The challengesPoor management and leadership. Management more concerned and interested in grading you by how visible your work is, than actual results. Management will also be more interested in their own promotions than their staffs’, and will not heed your plea for more manpower to take on the daunting workload. Although they will pretend to listen and pretend to have asked.

The good thingsGive your with the opportunities to work with multi-cultural patients and learn of their expectations. Also it give you chances to work with clients regarding their different need.
The challengesEvery patients have different needs and not 1 size fit alls. Languages is also a big challenge for some. For moe, not so much as I speak many dialects and a little Malay to get by.

The good thingsGood people to work with. They made work fun. Good timing, Good for students or semi-retired people.
The challengesIf you don't reach close to a certain amount in the first month. Your second will be under full commission. Maybe it is just me but it was not easy getting people to stop for donation. People walk around you like a rock in a river. Pay for your own travel fare and you will have to travel far. Pay for your own meals as well. You will also have to bare the insults from some people so have a strong heart and mind. It is also very demoralising in this job so make sure you have very high confidence or be 'thick skin' enough. You will see a different side of people (public) and most likely lose hope in humanity in the process. There is absolutely no career development in this job. You will be doing the same thing over and over again for years.

    Poor leadership and management
The good thingsRelaxing environment as it is non-profit organisation. The organisation empowers volunteers to take the lead and execute events.
The challengesPoor leadership and management as they lead to some of the employees talking bad about each other behind their back to the management. Incompetent employees were promoted too fast. High turnover rate in the organisation.

teaches how to excel in planning and organizing
The good thingsLearnt strategic planning and how to resolve problems and handle many different types of people and organizations. Able to learn many other skills other than the official job scope. Able to enter into other fields within the department to further improve your own set of skills.
The challengesA very high stress environment. Work never ends but yet satisfying when projects are completed as planned. There will constantly be new projects coming in monthly and no one other the person working on it can finish it.

    Fun Working Experience
The good thingsI love working under Red Cross. The work is less stressful, and friendly environment. I learnt to be meticulous with my work, and my bosses are very patient with me. My colleagues surrounding me makes the workplace fun, where everyone shares joy and laughter together.
The challengesThe work is tedious and requires one to be meticulous. The task itself is not very difficult, but requires one to do data entry for particulars of donors in abundance, filing of documents, and receiving calls. One wrong data can cause the whole report to be wrong, as it requires me to touch a bit on the finance. Tracking back on the error for that one wrong data is very tedious.

Great place to work for humanitarians with a bleeding heart to help the most vulnerable in society.
The good thingsFriendly colleagues with decent work-life balance. You get to meet many people from different walks of life. Singapore Red Cross is quite progressive in some areas.
    The challengesComplying with financial governance.

Fulfilling job with a lot of purpose
The good thingsClose knit working relationship with colleagues and very diverse workforce. will give you the opportunity to work with other departments and expose with other services/programmes of the organization.
The challengesSalary is average but won't be able to compete with bigger organisation/MNC thus if this is your motivation then won't be a good fit for you. Progression maybe a bit slow but recognise your potential and groom you.

    Benefit is above average
The good thingsOffice hour on weekdays depend on your role.Annual leave is above 16days for executive level, coordinator gets 14 days AL.Confirmed staffs get 1 day birthday leave and mall voucher.Got aws entitlement and performance bonus. Eve of selected public holidays can knock off work earlier. Some people are nice to interact.Good place if you are going into retirement zone.
The challengesPeople and Processes. Lack of promotion unless there is a very good mentor / boss to groom and support you. A lot of small birds around if you are on your progesstive way. Some people are not helpful when you need their assistance.Too much paperwork and process to obtain an approval. There are some spending expenses which can be save help the needy

    Loved my tenure in SRC
The good thingsThe people are really good. Managers take time to nurture you. I worked in the blood donor recruitment programme for close to 7 years. Believe me, it was the best time of my life. You'll have wonderful colleagues that will become your lifelong friends. The work can be tough but your team is with you all the way. If you're looking for a good first job and don't mind a lower pay, this is a good place.
The challengesYou might have your work stifling after a while. There's not much progression,. But it's still meaningful, impactful work.

Serving Humanity, Saving Lives. Good platform for graduates. Challenging Environment as a whole.
The good things- Nice colleagues and great time working with awesome volunteers - Opportunities for career development - Awesome mentorship - Supportive Management Team
The challenges- Too many systems, though we already have existing resource limitations, making administrative work more tedious. - Poor financial systems in-placed (No online payment platform for courses making it tough to collect debts) - Too many \"ECAs\" which are not tasked or under the appropriate department. - Lack of monetary or salary incentive, however, it is expected being an NGO / VWO. - Poor performance and poor support are generally accepted, but not acceptable in my opinion as it will affect operations.

    Challenge and Rewarding
The good things(1) Anybody can ask a question (2) Anybody can answer (3) The best answers are voted up and rise to the top (4) Transparent and Fast Paced
The challengesThere is many uncooperative and sour bitter personnel whom have leave the society for good. By reading the comments and feedback here, it is quite ironic that they did not reflected on their working ethics and professionalism working for a NGO. The Challenges working for any NGO or companies is bound to have difficulties and disagreement, it is for each individual to conquer and excel in it.
