    Temp assistant

Please do not join as temp staff
The good thingsChill and relaxing working environment. Tasks are not hard. Ok friendly colleagues, good for people who loves deskbound type of work
The challengesCons: Temp assistant is bad due to job misfit. Bad Management too. Managers/Executive are always in meeting. Micro-managing is common. Temp are not treated as part of organization and are part of outliers. Personal privacy might be comprised too. Managers/Executives are afraid of upper management and will not hesitate to drive you downwards at all cost to protect themselves. Every little small things had to have records to show you're working, causing things to be really inefficient and ignorance. What to improve? -Treat every staff with basic respect. -Treat people like how you want to be treated, if not more staffs will resign. -Make "No-Meeting" day to improve efficiency

The good thingswork is easy to take on, hybrid work schedule. i will include here that i have changed the dates of my work so that i can remain anon.
The challengesManagement showed strong resistance to new ideas & change, fostering a fearful environment due to weak leadership, evidenced by my unjust post-confirmation firing. Despite promoting teamwork, they lacked understanding. My manager's passivity forced me to cover their errors. Dysfunctional leadership.

Hire people with the right skillsets and abilities to lead.
The good thingsCheaper food options compared to town. Accessible by buses and mrt. Very slow pace of work.
The challengesManagement is not open to new ideas and change. People fear speaking out as they will be blacklisted and targeted during appraisal. Weak leadership and poor culture.

Mehhhh company....does not live up to its values
The good thingsYou will hear of people boast how they can slack while working from home and can still get promoted
The challengesRead the HR responses on Glassdoor and you will understand they are not truly sincere in wanting to change things or help workers. Do they really care why staff leave? Feedback given and nothing is done to the perpetuators and culprit. Exit interview is for show. Heads gossip to staff about their Director and Directors gossip to her Managers about other colleagues and bear personal grudges. Totally unprofessional and unbecoming of senior management. Mistakes are covered up, tardiness in work is tolerated. No integrity.

Great WL Balance, Nurturing Supervisors and Academics
The good thingsWork/Life Balance is excellent, even though workloads can be heavy when it comes to crunch time. Supervisors truly care for the welfare of their charges, and the relationship always felt like working with peers rather than having clear manager-worker delineations. Colleagues are also friendly and cordial, overall creating a very good working environment.
The challengesThe required standards for deliverables are not always well communicated or codified. Similarly, development pathways are also not explicitly made clear.

Depends on who you work for
The good thingsVery good AWS and professional development opportunities.
The challengesVery political and poor in terms of culture. Mostly top down initiatives and people get promoted if you obey to bosses.

    Large Student Population, Growth University
The good thingsEnlighted leadership with clear direction, collaborative departments, makes for a great work environment. The university is catching the crest of the lifelong learning movement, with innovative products for adult students
The challengesThe growing student population means more work for individual staff, definitely requires constant communication with individual supervisors on priorities.
