    Enjoyable team but management n supervisor not being fair ,EMM ALWAYS HAVE ISSUE WITH AL , OT , MC
    The good thingsMy peers is the best , working with them makes me gain alot of knowledge. super friendly
    The challengesThe management , how they treat their workers and be fair to atleast hear from both sides of parties instead of pulling just the manager aside to discuss . Make a one-one interview to understand more about their workers instead of having an interview with the supervisor .

    It needs change and having a dictatorship-like management is just bad.
    The good thingsi have enjoyed learning about the train system
    The challengesthe inability of management to recognise real passion but instead commending boot-lickers. management are not open to change, over-hiring instead of upgrading senior staff, infested the workforce with poor english speaking foreign talents. Do note that operationally you are required to speak well especial to passengers and ultimately when conversing through a radio.

    Overall a good Average company that can work long term can be more that 10years ..
    The good thingsCompany that have good peers , colleague and , Management that is team-work , learning and development centric.
    The challengesThere is a lot of red tape and not enough staff. The same few people keep getting promoted, which hinders career progression and promotions for others. Salary increases are very low, and organisational restructuring happens every 1 to 2 years, which is quite disruptive.

    Lack of motivation at ground level unless being the "chosen one"
    The good thingsUtilize the free public transport - that's the only welfare.
    The challengesPoor staff retention, many fresh grads see this place as a stepping stone after 2-3 years, those who left behind are either "henta - kaki" or those "chosen one" destined for success. Ground staff are largely lack of motivation because the lack of appreciation at their level with engineers who parachuted from nowhere to fill the void.

    SMRT a stable job but can be routinely boring and regimental
    The good thingsFree travel on trains and buses. Good station colleagues. Plentiful of OT.
    The challengesPoor work/life balance as it is short of manpower. Career can be stagnant as there are lots of staff doing the same routine for more than 30 years. Management is poor.

    What's it like working in SMRT
    The good thingsGood work life balance so plenty of opportunity to do part time studies or courses to improve oneself. Good stability and benefits such as free public transportation in Singapore.
    The challengesLots of bureaucracy which slows down work and stifles innovation. Top down management approach. Career growth opportunities extremely limited.

    Good People, Bad Management
    The good thingsMost staff are friendly and easy to communicate with. Staff benefits are pretty decent.
    The challengesManagement constantly reorganizes staff roles for little benefit. Most times you will be given little time to react to the changes. Most staff have multiple hats on and are expected to put on more. Many staff are assigned to crisis teams (24/7 service breakdown teams) with no indication of such arrangement during job interviews. An army officer will likely take over the position you are pining for, so don't be too ambitious lest you face disappointment. Stressful and unfair workload.

    The good thingsThe people are helpful and I was able to learn and have work life balance
    The challengesThe company is good in hiring anyone and give experience. It is a stepping stone for people who wants to start. However the gaps between fresh graduates and experienced staff are vastly far and it can be taxing for long term competetiveness.
