The Filter Initiative Pte Ltd (F.I.L.T.E.R - Food I Like To Eat Repeatedly)The Filter Initiative has two goals. The first and most important is to raise the level of local cusine and hawker food in Singapore. The second is to bring in new dining concepts that have yet to be experienced in Singapore.Local Cuisine -We formed the Filter Initiative because we felt the quality of local food has declined dramatically since our childhood. Things that were once handmade have now given way to factory made products. Food that was once delicious and healthy have now become processed, filled with preservatives and lacking in nutrients. Our mission at The Filter Initiative goes further than bringing back the traditional flavour and techniques of the old days. Simply we want to make the best local food we can. This requires not just dedication, focus and creativity, but also love and generosity. We try to allow these values to permeate through everything that we do. With each dish we spend many months or years researching, tracing source ingredients, refining techniques and eventually developing unique business models that allow us to bring this food to the public at the lowest prices possible. We pay homage to our ancestors who, through the mingling of our diverse ethnic cultures, created what we think is the tastiest cuisine in the world. By putting our patience, love and generosity into our food and those we work with, we hope to renew the respect for our cuisine that has been lacking these past few decades.New Dining Concepts -In addition to our commitment to local cuisine we seek to open many restaurants in the future that will feature new cuisines yet to be experienced in Singapore. Our head chef has over 14 yrs of experience having worked at some of the best restaurants in New York and the U.K including 2 Michelin Star Restaruant Sat Bains in Nottingham. In addtion to traditonal cooking, he spent a year working with Food Technology under his mentor David Arnold at The French Culinary Institite in NY. He had a successful catering business in Singapore for over three years serving 12-14 course bespoke tasting menus. And most recently he has been living in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he opened a restaurant serving South East Asian cuisine while honing his skills in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean cuisines. His wide experiences puts The Filter Initiative at an advantage in creating new dining concepts that re-imagine the F&B experiences that Singapore residents can have. Our Staff -In tangent to these lofty ideals we have an equally strong emphasis on having a warm and nurturing working environment for our employees. We want to focus on developing the skills and knowledge of our employees enabling them to be the leaders of their industry and to fulfill their highest aspirations.
