There is work life balance here
The good thingsBosses do not micro manage, and generally very helpful management and colleagues.
The challengesPay increment and career progression is slow, clinically not that strong for social workers.

Lack of concrete plans and clear, well thought direction.
The good thingsGet to interact with youths and see positive transformation in their lives.
The challengesDirect report who is in the mid management has a lack of direction or unclear of where he wants the department/team to head towards overall. Indecisive and a lack of contact with the ground cause him to have no ground knowledge to make decisions. Hence a decision/direction will require long updating and question-answering to provide all the background details.

The good things- colleagues - staff benefits are good - Not much politics - Colleagues are there to help each other - working environment not as stressful as those in the corporate companies since it is a nonprofit organisation - a good place to learn - they value work life balance
The challenges- working environment is a bit slow pace of you are looking for more challenges - hard to recruit qualified candidates for the positions as professional certification is required for certain positions - not much progression in the company
