We are just like one family, enjoying each other's company.
The good thingsPreviously I know many senior officers, we go out together, enjoy food and travel. If got any work problem, can just call them, they will assist me.
The challengesThere's nothing that I don't like. So far so good.

Friendly and helpful colleagues but outdated and unnecessarily tedious work processes.
The good thingsFriendly and helpful colleagues.
The challengesI'm in my 50s, I have worked in several foreign banks in the past. Last year, I took an offer to join UOB, which marked my first work experience with a domestic financial institution. I was unpleasantly surprised, or perhaps shocked, by how outdated some work processes were in the department I joined. A few work processes were antiquated and on some days, one of the outdated work processes required me to spend a solid eight hours on pure paperwork. This caused significant back pain, necessitating a doctor's visit, which resulted in a three-day medical leave and a prescription for strong painkillers and muscle relaxants. I realized that I could not compromise my health by adhering to these outdated processes, and I decided to resign after about a week after my medical leave as my upper back pain wouldn't go away. During the exit interview, I lied to the management saying that the workload was too fast-paced for me because I felt that telling the truth would not change the outdated system. Btw, I am not new to fast-paced work environments, as I have worked as a Forex Dealer in a couple of foreign banks in the past. To be very honest, I have never done so much manual paperwork before in my entire life since I started working in the late 80s, not even any where near half the paperwork load, seriously. In case you're wondering, I am not a frail man in my 50s, I am still a sporty or active person.
