We are just like one family, enjoying each other's company.
The good thingsPreviously I know many senior officers, we go out together, enjoy food and travel. If got any work problem, can just call them, they will assist me.
The challengesThere's nothing that I don't like. So far so good.

Definitely not a place to have a long term career. Earn your $ and run.
The good thingsSalary and annual leave benefits is fair.
The challengesBad work culture in group compliance. Toxic staff with endless bad mouthing.High attrition rate with 1 snr mgt ruling by fear and fond of picking scapegoats to prevent losing job (sacrificing staff).Snr Mgt use profanity to scold staff at meetings. One must endure mental stress to stay on.Most resign

Really ruined mental health, expect feeling burn out with late night meeting every day
The good thingsAnnual leave and insurance benefits are appropriate
The challengesVery toxic boss who forced us to pay/contribute with our own personal money to her to in order to keep 100% marks for mystery shopping and if threatened employees if achieved 100% marks, employees will not get our money back. Plus you are only allow to claim OT after 8.30pm, so expect you to work late almost everyday, hence not a healthy environment if you have family or kids at home When KPI is not reached, there are many forceful tactics to pressure employees, add on with brutal yells and comments from boss

Toxic environment, worth a short stay to building experience and cash. Not for long term.
The good thingsPerhaps only the salary. But wont last long, as the environment is pretty mental daily.
The challengesToxic environment. Talk down tone from management. Manual system, poor approval system and process.

Friendly and helpful colleagues but outdated and unnecessarily tedious work processes.
The good thingsFriendly and helpful colleagues.
The challengesI'm in my 50s, I have worked in several foreign banks in the past. Last year, I took an offer to join UOB, which marked my first work experience with a domestic financial institution. I was unpleasantly surprised, or perhaps shocked, by how outdated some work processes were in the department I joined. A few work processes were antiquated and on some days, one of the outdated work processes required me to spend a solid eight hours on pure paperwork. This caused significant back pain, necessitating a doctor's visit, which resulted in a three-day medical leave and a prescription for strong painkillers and muscle relaxants. I realized that I could not compromise my health by adhering to these outdated processes, and I decided to resign after about a week after my medical leave as my upper back pain wouldn't go away. During the exit interview, I lied to the management saying that the workload was too fast-paced for me because I felt that telling the truth would not change the outdated system. Btw, I am not new to fast-paced work environments, as I have worked as a Forex Dealer in a couple of foreign banks in the past. To be very honest, I have never done so much manual paperwork before in my entire life since I started working in the late 80s, not even any where near half the paperwork load, seriously. In case you're wondering, I am not a frail man in my 50s, I am still a sporty or active person.

    Terrible working culture.
The good thingsThe employee benefits are decent.
The challengesPeople are not hyped to work here. They know they won't get fired and thus becomes a bad culture where nothing gets done. Senior Management don't know what the ground staff are doing. They only care about numbers. They conduct engagement for the sake of conducting. Too many Yes Man. And too many taichi masters.

    Average employee.
The good thingsI was fortunate to be able to work with various branch and department heads who were passionate, both in work and treat their team members like friends. The management gave advices and respect our views on job scope and tried ways to improvised. Salaries are competitive with bonuses usually tied to work performances across the segment. Everyone is given opportunity to learn and adapt and grow with the known goals as a guide.
The challengesStress are on the workloads received and the T-day processing goals. However, there is definitely a difference between working on C2C job scope verses deskbound experience. However regardless of which area one is assigned, no job is easy, it is your mentality and willingness that push you forward.

Everything was fine except no Perm position available
The good thingsHard work & efforts were recognized by many project team managers as I'm the main in-charged (with 1 assistant only) on more than 600 resources. Learnt to strengthen my character & work performance even though there isn't any much guidance provided since joining. Had built up good reputation with various department personnel & management team managers.
The challengesHad learnt to be extremely independent under bad work circumstances in order to get my work done + requires a lot wisdom to resolve all obstacles/challenges encountered at all times due to no proper systems when manager is not sure of anything, simply entrust everything to me. Basically I'm my manager's right hand man.

    Rewarding and many learning opportunities
The good thingsI enjoyed working with the same age group and this is a good platform to learn more about compliance.
The challengesIt took up a lot of my personal time. This job can be quite stressful due to the high volume and pace. The management did not define what is a good performance expected from the employees. For example, overall closure rate. Did not like how they flashed everyone's performance on a projector during a meeting and singled out the ones that did not perform well. It could have been better if it was a one-to-one confrontation as everyone has their own learning curve. It felt very sandwiched between the RMs and the Supervisor that is approving the work. If the RMs do not get back to you on time or your supervisor happens to be too busy to check your work and emails, you may find yourself in a position with a poor closure rate and be called out on. However, you have already done your level best in the given situation. So, it can feel a little unfair.

    Supportive HR
The good things1. hard work will be recognized: offered salary is kind of based on education background and working experience. incremental and bonus was given based on performance. It's a place where you only need to focus on performing, the management and HR will take of your benefits. 2. well maintained intranet: product knowledge, workflow and events are maintained on intranet, easy to navigate. 3. HR very supportive: I used to apply for my PR when I was in UOB, and had a really good impression that HR representative is very responsive and helpful. 4. Manager very approachable: may encounter situations out of existing workflows, you will be empowered or encouraged to approach manager to find the best solution
The challenges1. long working hours: workload was a bit heavy, if you don't want to downgrade your work quality, the only way is to increase your working hours. has nothing to do with efficiency, need to sought out for tailed solution for different situations, challenging but interesting. however, the way of solving problems are not captured by KPI, hence there`s nothing wrong to provide a standard answer instead of a best answer. 2. very limited learning opportunity: except the problem solving ability which can be learned on daily work, very few opportunity to get new skill sets due to limited man power. even the training slots are available, the team simply can't afford to let you go for the training, there's always someone on leave, mc, etc.
