Woodlands Health (WH) provides care for the North-Western population in Singapore. We will operate a purpose-built integrated Campus set to open progressively from 2023. The Campus will include a fully integrated acute and community hospital, specialist outpatient clinics, intermediate and long-term care facilities and green healing spaces. We will offer a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, rehabilitative and transitional care services, working closely with partners to deliver seamless care within and beyond our Campus. Since 2016, WH has started serving and empowering residents in their health journey through our Community Nurse Posts and outreach efforts. In September 2020, WH introduced the GPFirst Programme in the North and opened the first community-based Urgent Care Centre at Kampung Admiralty making urgent care more accessible to residents living nearby.

What’s it like working at Woodlands Health?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Woodlands Health demonstrates several positive aspects, particularly in its supportive team environment at the working level, where colleagues are noted to be cooperative and helpful. The organisation offers good learning and development opportunities, including various courses and exposure to new technologies. As part of NHG, employees benefit from attractive compensation packages including healthcare bonuses and leave entitlements. The nurse management team receives particular praise for their supportive approach and advocacy for staff.

However, there are areas that present opportunities for improvement. The work-life balance can be challenging, with long hours and weekend work being common, particularly in healthcare roles. Some employees express concerns about the management style, suggesting a need for more collaborative decision-making and clearer communication. The workplace culture could benefit from enhanced recognition of employee contributions and reduced internal politics. Additionally, some staff members indicate that career progression opportunities could be more accessible and better structured.

    Toxic workplace in laboratory.
The good thingsConvenient to get to the location that’s all.
The challengesGaslighting practices by the management. LQuestioning you when you have clarifications to be made. As management, you should be guiding, not throwing more questions back. Your method of guidance is horrible. Ample of feedback given but nothing changed, only thing that the director did was buy food and tea that’s all. Never eve solve the cause of the management horrible attitude.

Poor people management & HR dept who is full of stuck up personnel. They just don't care!
The good thingsGreat team. Working peers who were very supportive.
The challengesI was genuinely interested to continue working under different positions but my applications were declined. No consideration given for me to take on said positions that i have applied for, instead new recruits were accepted and it continued to put up ads for same positions over the months. Imagined being denied the chance to continue your contributions to the company which impressed you for the last 1 year even for positions that were below your credentials such as PSA.

It is still a learning experience.
The good thingsFlexibility on shifts and leave application. Nurse manaegers always stand for staffs against conflicts from unreasonable complaints
The challengesStaff from other multidisciplinary team are lesser considerable and team work, always mind their own business. Biases and boot-licking cultures.
