They are responsible for leading their team to meet the sales goals of a company, and optimise performance through data analysis, reporting, and feedback sessions. Sales Managers can work in various industries such as retail, manufacturing, and pharmaceutics.

- Mentoring the sales team to meet company standards and goals.
- Hiring employees for the sales team.
- Analysing sales performance and data.
- Delegating tasks to members of the sales team.
- Creating sales plans to meet time-bound targets.
- Reporting sales performance to sales executives and directors.
How to become a Sales Manager
Years of experience in sales and leadership are necessary for this role. The job not only requires technical knowledge of how to analyse data and define goals in order to improve sales performance, but mentorship and communications skills as well in order to motivate a sales team to improve performance.

Graduate with a bachelor degree in marketing, business management, communications, or another related field.

Complete an internship in the sales department of a recognised company.

Gain experience in the sales industry, starting in roles such as Sales Representative and Sales Associate before getting promoted to Sales Manager.
