Toxic leadership and no work-life balance — not a sustainable place to work.
The good thingsUnfortunately, I did not find any positive aspects during my time at the school. The environment was stressful, the leadership style was toxic, and there was no support or respect for staff well-being.
The challengesThe school is effectively run by one person who has a negative reputation in the industry, and unfortunately, many of the rumors turned out to be true. There is a highly controlling management style, with little to no autonomy given to staff. It often felt like working in a fear-based, top-down environment, similar to a "North Korea-style" of leadership. There is no work-life balance — staff are expected to be available 24/7, even during weekends and personal leave. Messages must be answered immediately, and there is constant pressure. The rules and expectations change frequently with little to no warning. Job security is also a major concern, as people are let go without notice if they express disagreement or dissatisfaction.
