Registered in 1992, Apple Tree Playgroup programme has been conducted for more than a decade. In the beginning, the playgroup was conducted at their centre in Yishun and later, two additional centres at Tampines Century Square Shopping Centre and Bukit Panjang Plaza were set up. Apple Tree was set up to provide a solid foundation of learning for very young children. Using a thematic approach, Apple Tree enhances learning by allowing children to make connections between the various experiences during a session.Their activities do not attempt to rush children into facts and figures and memorisation, but rather to provide the context for later learning and the beginning of thinking skills. All activities are also designed to be enjoyable and enhance the childrens socialisation skills and self esteem. Teachers at Apple Tree are carefully selected and trained to conduct their programmes for young children. They are also qualified professional in early childhood teaching. The playgroup centre has a yearly enrolment of 2,500 children.
