What’s it like working at Codar (Pte) Ltd?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Codar (Pte) Ltd appreciate the timely salary payments, good medical benefits, and flexible work arrangements with an understanding boss. There are also opportunities for career growth and promotions. However, there are several potential challenges, including an outdated DOS accounting system requiring inefficient manual processes, disorganised administrative tasks leading to delays, and a heavy workload with expectations of responding to messages at night and attending time-consuming meetings. Additionally, there are concerns about management's approach, such as a lack of clear policies, resistance to feedback, and a company direction that may not prioritise growth or employee well-being. Some employees have also experienced a hostile work environment with competitiveness and potential backstabbing among colleagues.

The good things1.Pay salary on time. 2.Good medical coverage and benefits. 3.Renovated office
The challenges1.DOS accounting system. Inefficient and out-dated system, been using since early 1990s. Printed tons of reports using the dot-matrix printer and many reports printed are not used. A lot of manual and time-consuming work as reports are only available in DOS and staff have to manually work on it intelligently, cannot export the report to Excel. 2.Complex billing, mark-up and discount structure/framework. Changes as and when the management deem fit. Many price lists, mark-up list. 3.Staff have to report directly to both the Dept head and the boss. At times acting as a in-between messenger. 4.Time-consuming meetings. Fault-findings on the staff
