    Inaugurated in 1997, the 85-strong Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) is Singapore's only professional Chinese orchestra as well as a flagship local arts group.Taking on the twin role of preserving traditional arts and culture and establishing new frontiers throughthe incorporation of exotic Southeast Asian cultural artifacts, its home is the Singapore Conference Hall, a prime performance venue in the financial district.

    Unfair opportunity for everyone
    The good thingsKnow behind the scene of how orchestra functions.
    The challengesTotally unequal opportunities for employees. Employees from Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra are deemed as more capable, with more opportunities for promotion and training. In addition, those who are part of those 'special treatment' departments are more prone to promotions and good appraisal review. Management only side with musicians since they have the backing of the Board, rather than listen to both side of stories before making judgement. Love to make spontaneous change on the spot.
