What’s it like working at Wee Hur Construction Ltd?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Wee Hur Construction Ltd appreciate the collaborative environment and opportunities for learning through shared expertise and exposure to various aspects of the industry. The timely payment of salaries and alternative Saturday off arrangement are also seen as positives. However, there are potential challenges, such as job insecurity due to the contract nature of the work, poor management decisions and communication breakdowns, particularly from upper management. Some employees feel overwhelmed by heavy workloads and unrealistic expectations, with long working hours beyond contractual obligations. Certain project sites lack adequate facilities such as proper site offices, toilets, and drinking water for staff. Additionally, there are difficulties in coordinating work schedules and ensuring subcontractors follow instructions from engineers.

    Rewarding Collaboration but Uncertain Future
The good things The good things Collaborative Success: Working with engineers has been a rewarding experience. We often celebrate our achievements with small gatherings, which helps foster a strong team spirit. The professional environment and shared knowledge make our work enjoyable and enriching.
The challengesUncertain Future: However, as contract staff, the uncertainty of securing new projects remains a challenge. There is no guaranteed future, which makes long-term stability a concern. Despite this, the experience and connections gained are valuable.

    Challenging Environment
The good things- Helpful technical support from technical team to support operations team - Highly staffed team - Special Alternative Sat Off (You're still responsible for whatever your Subcon is doing on that day. Good or Bad)
The challenges- Too much double handling - Subcons do not listen to Engineers (very hard to coordinate work schedule) - Management is not conscious of existing duties/work. (Sometimes some of your work is wasted) - Team Work is non-existent without any intervention from Management. (Which most of the time is forced, causing bad relationship with colleagues) -
