What's it like to be a Delivery Driver?
Delivery Drivers transport deliveries via a vehicle such as a truck, car or motorcycle. They are responsible for ensuring the safe, private and punctual arrival of a recipient’s parcel. Delivery Drivers work for couriers, in-house for private companies, government offices, and other industries involving the transport of goods and services.
Tasks and duties
- Transporting the right packages to the right addresses.
- Storing packages safely and discreetly upon dispatch.
- Collecting payments from customers if required.
- Remitting payments to the company.
- Updating delivery statuses and reports.
- Operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle, such as a car or truck.
How to become a Delivery Driver
While a degree is not required for this role, being at least 18 years of age and having a driver’s licence is essential. You may also need your own vehicle.

Obtain a valid driver’s licence as a Singapore permanent resident or work permit holder.

Meet any additional requirements as stated by your employer, such as owning a delivery vehicle and completing safety training.
