How to become an Engineer
To become an Engineer, a relevant bachelor degree is necessary. Choosing a specialisation early on will help you focus on the industry and type of work you will build your career. Additional certifications and professional organisations may help you advance further.

Graduate with a degree in engineering that is relevant to your chosen industry. Consider accredited programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a recognised global standard.

To become a licensed engineer-in-training, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam offered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). After completing this, you can start as an intern in your chosen industry.

Gain full licensure after four years of experience and passing the NCEES Professional Engineer (PE) exam.
