Telemarketers work in the sales industry by contacting current or potential customers via telephone. Their goal is to promote and sell a product or service by providing prospective customers with information and persuading them to make a purchase. In addition to selling, Telemarketers collect customer information, record the outcome of each call and handle customer complaints and feedback. This role often demands exceptional conversational skills and a high level of resilience and patience, as telemarketers can expect to encounter frequent rejection. They are typically employed by a wide range of organisations, from retail to the telecommunications sector, or by dedicated call centres servicing a variety of clients.
