- Design, develop and execute automated data quality tests.
- Conduct manual data quality tests for cases not covered by automation.
- Analyse test results, identify issues and recommend solutions to problems identified.
- Document and report findings, errors and subsequent updates.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Ensure that testing activities align with business and project objectives.
How to become a Testing Analyst
To become a Test Analyst, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
- Obtain a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Acquire a strong understanding of software, hardware, networks, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Proficiency in different programming languages and database systems is crucial for effective test analysis.
- Cultivate a keen eye for detail to meticulously review lines of code, detect anomalies, and prevent minor issues from escalating into significant problems.
- Develop proficient problem-solving abilities to identify and rectify software issues efficiently.
