What’s it like working at SICK?

    AI summary of recent reviews

SICK offers several positive aspects for employees, including a friendly and harmonious work environment with supportive colleagues. The company provides good work-life balance through flexible working hours, and employees appreciate the learning opportunities available through working with multinational teams. The company's position as a maker of top standard products and its competitive market stance also contribute to its appeal.

However, there are areas for improvement, including the need for more clearly defined career progression paths and enhanced transparency in promotion processes. Communication challenges exist due to language barriers and time zone differences with German headquarters, while resource management can be challenging when handling multiple projects. Some employees also note that management practices around promotions and appraisals could benefit from more structure and transparency.

Real action is needed instead of 'lips service'.
The good thingsGreat potential, but real action is needed from management
The challengesManagement often talks about appreciating staff, but unfortunately, it rarely goes beyond words. Poor planning, unclear direction, and limited support from the top make the working environment stressful. High turnover is common, as many employees feel there is little fairness, growth, or real development opportunities. The culture feels unstable and lacks genuine support. After joining my new company, the difference is totally clear! Here, management truly values people, with a structured hiring process, transparent communication, strong employee benefits, and real appreciation shown through action. If my previous company could learn from this and focus on genuine care, consistent leadership, and trust-based culture, it could truly become a great place to work. The potential is there, it just needs real commitment to make it happen.
