What’s it like working at Star Learners?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Star Learners offers several positive aspects including a well-structured curriculum that engages children effectively, alongside supportive and passionate colleagues who create a cooperative work environment. The company provides good training opportunities and has established systems for managing operations across multiple centres, with some reviewers specifically praising the curriculum team and training programs.

However, there are areas that could be improved, particularly regarding work-life balance as teachers struggle with limited time for administrative tasks and preparation. The management structure appears to concentrate decision-making among a small group, which some employees feel limits diverse viewpoints. Additionally, the company faces challenges with staff retention, particularly among experienced leaders.

Challenging Leadership Environment with Perceived Bias and Blame Culture
The good things- Exposure to large-scale operations across multiple centres - Structured systems and established reporting processes - Opportunity to build resilience and operate independently
The challenges- Top management operates within a very close-knit circle, which may create perceptions of limited diversity in viewpoints - Instances of perceived favouritism is obvious and affect morale and create uneven experiences among staff - Employees who raise concerns may feel vulnerable, as speaking up can sometimes lead to strained relationships or negative treatment - Limited psychological safety when expressing differing views - Accountability culture can feel one-sided, with issues often attributed to employees rather than explored systemically
