What’s it like working at Hitachi?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Hitachi appreciate the global opportunities and exposure to different countries and cultures, as well as the chances for learning and growth in areas like project management and technical skills. The supportive work environment, with good bosses, colleagues, and project management support, is also highly valued, along with the good benefits offered by the company.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as high workloads with tight deadlines, particularly for certain roles. Additionally, there are indications of bureaucratic processes and old-fashioned practices still in place. A few reviewers mentioned challenges with product competitiveness, noting that Hitachi's high-quality products can be difficult to sell in certain markets. There is also a perceived need for more training and knowledge sharing around Hitachi's products and offerings.

Singapore1 to 2 years in the role, former employee
Limited room for career growth, middle management only concerned about making their bosses happy
The good thingsAble to learn more about Japanese corporate culture and opportunity to work with several non-locals.
The challengesStuck in old ways of doing things, not daring or innovative enough. Still using ink and paper stamps when the company can just subscribe to Adobe. Tokyo HQ usually wants to approve every single thing, which makes things go slowly. Overall, a stagnant and rather boring workplace.
