A fast-paced sushi restaurant experience focused on teamwork and customer service.
The good thingsI have really enjoyed working in F&B service at a sushi restaurant, especially interacting with customers and providing a positive dining experience. I enjoy creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that customers feel satisfied with the service. I also appreciate the teamwork environment, where everyone supports each other during busy periods. Working in a fast-paced setting has helped me become more efficient and adaptable. Additionally, I enjoy learning more about food presentation and maintaining high standards of service. Overall, I find this role rewarding because I can contribute to customer satisfaction while continuously improving my skills.
The challengesOne of the challenges I experienced while working in F&B service at a sushi restaurant was handling busy periods, especially during peak hours. Managing multiple customer orders at the same time required strong time management and attention to detail. I believe there is always room to improve in terms of speed and efficiency while maintaining high service quality. Additionally, communication between team members can be further improved to ensure smooth coordination, especially during busy service times. I see these challenges as valuable learning opportunities, and I am continuously working on improving my multitasking, communication, and customer service skills.

Toxic Colleague with Fair Work Hours
The good thingsEmployees generally leave work on time, and the remuneration package is fair.
The challenges1) Toxic Office Culture (Gossiping, name calling, and rumor spreading are common occurrences in the office. Refusing to participate in such behavior often results in becoming the subject of the gossip yourself.) 2) Language Barrier (The work environment is predominantly Chinese speaking. Most employees are foreigners who prefer to communicate in Mandarin, even during meetings, which can make it challenging for non Mandarin speakers to fully engage.) 3) Complacency Among Long Serving Staff (Some long serving employees display complacency and tend to delegate full responsibility for projects to others. When a project succeeds, they take credit for providing “guidance,” but when it fails, they are quick to shift blame.)
