What are some potential low-cost businesses that can be started and operated by a diploma grad in hospitality? I have $1000 to work with. Any ideas?

I see all these finance bros talking about investments, ETFs, and property like it’s so easy. Meanwhile, I’m here just trying to stretch my salary till the end of the month. I want to start investing, but everything feels overwhelming—so many options, so much jargon. If you started with zero knowledge, what’s the best way to begin without making dumb mistakes?

SG’s business scene is brutal—rental costs, government regulations, and crazy competition. Even if you hustle 24/7, it’s no guarantee of success. I know people who went all-in, but after a year, had to close shop. 💀 If you’re running a business in SG, how do you actually make it work? What’s the hardest part people don’t see? And with rising costs, is it even worth starting a business now, or better to just stay employed?

I’ve always been curious about business owners who juggle multiple ventures. How do they find the time and balance everything? I’ve got a few side projects myself, and sometimes I struggle just managing ONE! I always find it so inspiring when I see someone running multiple businesses smoothly. I truly think it’s all about time management and delegation, having the right team and setting clear priorities. Anyone here balancing more than one business? How do you do it?

I am a Filipino, dreaming to get a job in Singapore. Are there any employer that are willing to hire foreigner employees and will help them process the work visa? I have a 3 years experience in Customer Service/Admin Staff and 2 year as a Accounting Assistant. Thank you.

I am currently seeking a remote position in the audit/accounting field. I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Gold Medalist with over five years of experience in audit, finance, and assurance, I have worked with top firms, including EY Myanmar, AAA Assurance in Singapore, and Vinod Kumar & Associates in India. If you know of any opportunities, I would greatly appreciate it if you could kindly let me know.Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

The moment you start being self-employed.. everything is on your own.. From tracking expenses, managing invoices, to figuring out taxes. But as the business grows, things are getting messier. Cash flow, budgeting, compliance, can't handle it anymore. Definitely a huge commitment. You better think twice and do lot of preparation for starting any business. if not it just a waste of time and effort

Have you even thought that normal working hours might becoming obsolete,, especially for finance field. My cousin in banking says he basically works 24/7 because of clients in different time zones. Meanwhile, my friend in fintech has flexible hours and works from anywhere (even Bali sometimes!). What’s your take? Are we really moving away from the 9-to-5, or is it just a trend that will fade?

In corporate for many years now, and suddenly i think i should step up and move to different places.. The salary is decent, same routine which I don’t see much growth. What if i do a business for more flexibility and financial freedom, just i dont have a clue yet. Some say follow passion, some say go where the money is, others say solve a problem. But what if I don’t know what I’m passionate about, and I don’t have a groundbreaking idea? How do i decide?
