I just started at this new company about 2 months ago. I've never taken any MC/AL because I'm still under probation. But this week, I had a terrible stomach ache on Monday morning. Went to the loo countless times so I texted my boss telling her that I'm going to get an MC. Surprisingly, she got super angry and she said NOBODY should take MC on Monday. It's just an unspoken rule in the working world. Question: Is it true? Second, should I resign before I got confirmed next month?

Is it common to get ignored and excluded from team's meeting when you've already tendered your resignation? I didn't do this willingly but I was forced to submit it after a project failed and my boss put the blame entirely on me. I thought if I resigned, everybody will be happy and not treat me like a stranger. After all, I was thrown under the bus for them! All I'm asking is just a friendship that would last even after I don't work here anymore. Is it too much to ask? Why are they so mean??

Is it really wrong to do other stuff during WFH? 😭 I got caught doing laundry and running errands, but I always deliver my work on time and meet deadlines. Many times I reply late but still within reasonable time and it's not because I’m slacking off but I was just multitasking with other things. Now my boss says he’ll bring it up during appraisal and might take away my WFH privilege. How do I explain myself and convince him that I’m still productive, just with better work-life balance?

35, jobless, broke (literally only $500 in my account) & still living with my parents. Am i a failure? Got retrenched last year and haven’t been able to land anything since. Is it age factor? IDK. My savings almost gone while most of my friends are either getting married, buying houses, or climbing career ladders but I'm stuck in a loop of rejection emails with zero motivation. I feel like I’ve failed in every way possible & it's so late to start over again. IDK what else to do. Any advice?

Hi guys, im currently working in the lift industry. I never imagined myself working as a lift technician, but i guess life is full of surprise. I feel its physically demanding having to service 3-6 lifts (manageable) and up to 9 lifts(if colleague on MC/or 1 week before cny due to fellow china colleagues goes back to china) per day. Im intending to find another job. Maybe something a little more relax than this. Currently pursuing pt dip in building services at np. What career should i try next?
