4 year working at singapore in many field. f&b and Fss. but now my contract almost done by this August. im searching for a new job that not to far from my degree. i had a syaria with law degree and practicing for 2 years before. only dont have any lawyer license due of covid 19 and i choose to come into singapore and working here. i hope i can get a job in any field that close to my degree before i finish my contract. hurmm

I’ve been looking into certifications to up my game, but I’m stuck on whether free certificates are worth it. I’ve come across many free courses and certifications, but I always hear that paid certs carry more weight. Is that true? Are free certs just as valuable, or do employers take them less seriously compared to paid ones? Trying to figure out whether it’s worth investing in those paid certs or if the free ones are good enough for me to boost my skills and CV. What’s your take on this?

Just found out the cert I paid $$$ can get for FREE somewhere else. Checked the official site, and it’s right there. The SAME course, SAME content, but I got tricked by some 3rd-party platform. No refunds, no way to get my money back 😭 Yes, my fault for not checking thoroughly, but the way they marketed it made it seem exclusive, like I was getting a special deal. How do I make sure this doesn’t happen again? Any tips on verifying if a cert is legit before paying?

For those who have taken online certs, how many hours did you actually spend on them? Do you really have to complete every single hour to get certified? I’m a busy person but a fast learner—I can grasp concepts quickly, but I hate sitting through long videos just to tick a box. Is there a way to speed things up without skipping the important stuff? Any tips on getting certified efficiently?

Been thinking of upskilling, but AWS or Microsoft certs—which one is actually worth it? People keep saying cloud skills = higher salary, but these certs aren’t cheap. AWS seems more in demand, but Microsoft is huge in corporate settings. I don’t want to waste money on something that’s just a fancy badge. If you’ve taken either, did it really lead to a better job or pay raise? Which one gave the most career boost? Need real advice before I spend $$$ on the wrong cert.

Signed up for a certification course, completed all the modules, but still haven't received my certificate. It's been weeks, and all I get are vague responses when I follow up. Starting to worry I might have been scammed. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it usually take to receive a certification after course completion? Pls help me out. I'm planning to include the cert in my resume, now i can't bcz i'm not yet certified and already paid thousands of money.

Spent money on a cert that was supposed to boost my career but ended up just another line on my resume. The course was all theory, no real skills, and employers didn’t even care about it. Thought it’d help me get better pay, but HR was more interested in experience than fancy papers. Now I’m skeptical about upskilling. How do you even know if a cert is worth it before spending time and money? Anyone else kena this before?
