Mentored a junior employee for years, watched them grow, and now they just got promoted to VP. Super proud moment, but also made me pause and think… what’s next for me as their mentor? It’s one thing to guide someone when they’re still climbing the ranks, but now that they’ve stepped into leadership, the dynamic shifts. I want to keep supporting them, but without overstepping or making it seem like I’m trying to hold on too tightly. How do i keep mentoring when they've outranked me?

I’m earning a decent salary, but honestly, it feels like it’s come at a huge cost. The amount of time I’m spending at work is ridiculous, and there’s barely any time left for myself. LEGIT no Work-life balance. 24hrs for sure i think about work work work and then when I finally get a break, I’m too exhausted to enjoy it.
