Mentored a junior employee for years, watched them grow, and now they just got promoted to VP. Super proud moment, but also made me pause and think… what’s next for me as their mentor? It’s one thing to guide someone when they’re still climbing the ranks, but now that they’ve stepped into leadership, the dynamic shifts. I want to keep supporting them, but without overstepping or making it seem like I’m trying to hold on too tightly. How do i keep mentoring when they've outranked me?

Recruiting top exec talent in Singapore has been a bit of a challenge lately. I’ve always relied on headhunters, but it feels like the market is more competitive than ever. With so many talented candidates out there, I’m wondering if there’s a better way to attract senior-level talent without relying solely on traditional headhunting. How do you find the right fit for these high-stakes roles? Any tips or alternatives that have worked for you? I’m really open to suggestions!

I just made the leap to CFO after years in finance. Exciting, but also overwhelming! The shift from managing numbers to leading strategy, dealing with investors, and driving business decisions feels like a whole new world. I’m curious to hear from others, what was the biggest lesson you learned in your first year as an executive? How did you balance financial oversight with leadership responsibilities? Any advice on building credibility, managing pressure, or avoiding common mistakes?

Some people climb the career ladder at lightning speed—promoted every year, salary doubling every two years. Meanwhile, some of us are just trying to get a fair increment. 🥲 What’s their secret? Right connections? Extra hours? Actually smarter than everyone else? If you’ve had a major career breakthrough, what’s the real thing that helped? Need practical tips, not just “work hard and be proactive.” Because let’s be real, that doesn’t work for everyone.

I’ve stepped into a senior role at an MNC, and everything feels… massive. More meetings, more processes, and even getting approvals takes forever. The learning curve is steep, and I’m still adjusting. What was the hardest part for you when moving from SME to MNC? How did you adapt without losing that SME agility? Need all the advice I can get!

Serious question: What actually sets apart a high-income earner’s resume from the rest? Is it the job titles, certain skills, or just how you present your achievements? I’ve noticed some people seem to climb the income ladder faster, and I can’t help but wonder—what’s their secret for this? If you’re earning well or know the tricks, spill the tea! What should I focus on to position myself for those higher-paying roles?

Age: 30 Industry: Marketing Position: Assistant Manager Salary + Benefits: $7,500/month, w yearly bonuses, health insurance & hybrid Challenges: Recently heard i'm might getting the offer becoming senior manager but now struggling with imposter syndrome. Constantly second-guessing my decisions, even though I have the skills + experience. Colleagues are supportive, but I can’t shake the feeling that I’m not truly ready for this managerial role. Anyone else experienced this after a promotion?

I’ve recently been offered a job in Australia, and while the opportunity sounds great, I’m not entirely sure if it’s the best move. Leaving Singapore for a new country comes with a lot of uncertainty, especially in terms of adjusting to the culture, cost of living, and lifestyle changes. For anyone who's made the move from Singapore to the Aus, what was your experience like? Would you recommend it, or should I rethink this decision? FYI, I also lived with my partner.

I’m earning a decent salary, but honestly, it feels like it’s come at a huge cost. The amount of time I’m spending at work is ridiculous, and there’s barely any time left for myself. LEGIT no Work-life balance. 24hrs for sure i think about work work work and then when I finally get a break, I’m too exhausted to enjoy it. Feel like no point to earn more if this causing me to sacrifice my health and happiness

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a stressful situation. I’m holding quite a high position at my company, but I’ve heard rumors about upcoming layoffs, and now I’m on edge. There’s a chance I might stay, but the uncertainty is killing me. Every day I wake up with so much stress, especially with all the commitments I have. How do I handle this situation and keep my focus? I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I also don’t want to be blindsided. How to cope with this?
